Banking Points Question

Can I bank a portion of my points from one specific resort so that I have enough to book at the 11 months? For example, if I have 250 points and 200 at BWV and 50 at WLV can I choose to only bank the 50 so that I have more to use at the 11 month booking time? Can I also borrow from the next year to total 150 points?
Do you have to use any banked points before you can use from another use year? I usually don't have points to bank so I forget all of the ins and outs of it. Thank you for th wealth of knowledge.

Yes, you can bank whatever quantity of points you wish to. When you go to bank it will show you the number you have available to bank and you input how many of that you want to bank in that transaction.

Borrowing occurs when you make a reservation if you don't have enough points for that reservation. If you have enough points then it won't be an option.

The system will automatically use banked points first if there are any available.

Yes you can bank from separate resorts. You can only borrow while making a reservation. The points have to be available for the dates of the stay, not the date that you make the reservation. You get a warning if you have banked or borrowed points to use but I don't think that you are forced to use them first.

It doesn't allow you to choose the points it uses from the contract you select. It will use holding (if eligible in the 60 day window), then banked, then borrowed, then current.

That's what I was trying to avoid...using my points from wilderness before I could accumulate enough.

There are ways around it if necessary. What is the scenario? And the home resort priority still applies to the banked so if you were booking something at BWV during that 7-11 months it wouldn't use the banked VWL points. I think it will also not use the banked points if you have not selected the contract that has the banked points. But if you select it to use then it takes the banked first.

With online reservations, you can select which resort contract to use. If you don't select the VWL contract, it won't use any points from that contract at all, regardless of their status.
