I'm a new DVC memeber (just bought in last week), and I have a question about banking points. When we talked to our DVC salesperson, he told us that you could bank your points the first day that you recieved them (the first day of your use year, right?), and then if you wanted to take a vacation during that year you could take them out with no problems. I understand that once you borrow points from the next year you have to use them or they are gone, but is there more flexibility with the points for your current year? Can you bank them, take them out and if you change your mind bank them again (all within your 6 month window)?

No, there is no flexibility with banked or borrowed points as those are irreversible transactions.

Banked points cannot be unbanked and can only be used once you are in the Use Year into which they were banked (the next Use Year). If you have banked your points for the current Use Year and decide you want to make a reservation during the current Use Year, you can just borrow the points from the following Use Year.

Whenever possible, make sure you won't be needing your current points before the end of the Use Year and if you should need to borrow, be sure (as much as possible) that you won't need to cancel- since the borrowed points cannot be banked and will expire at the rnd of the current Use Year.

Nope.

That flexibility does not exist. If you borrow points (either those that have been banked or points from the next year's total), those points must be used in the year in which your brought them in. If you do not use them, you can bank them and would end up losing them.
