Can you only bank or borrow points one time during your use year. Meaning can you borrow points then wind up not using them all then bank them back later ?

banking and borrowing are final transactions. if you borrow pts, you have to use them by the end of the current use year or else they will expire.

(but you can borrow 15 pts from the next UY...and then if a waitlist comes through, you can borrow 10 more. but you can't "bank" borrowed pts or otherwise put them back. the same is true with banking.)

There is no limit on the number of times you can bank or borrow. Members have a full 8 months to bank. If you want to bank one point a day for as many points as you own - that would be allowed. You can only borrow when actually making a reservation - again there is no limit on the number of times you borrow.

For banking, the only limitation is the 8 month time frame and for borrowing, the limitation is the number of points available to borrow.

Borrowed points cannot be banked. They will remain in the Use Year into which they were borrowed and will expire at the end of that Use Year is not used for another reservation. Again, you can only borrow points to make a reservation. If that reservation is cancelled the points will be returned to the contract in that Use Year.

Enjoy! :)

You cant bank your borrowed points but can you bank points from your current use year. Example ) let say we have 140 points and we need 252 to do a week 1bdrm BCV. So we borrow 112 points but then decide were are gonna do a 2 bedroom Sun-Thurs so we only need 170 so we only would have needed to borrow 30 points. Can we then bank 110 points back to the following use year saying we are not giving them back just banking from what we have this year ?:confused3

If you cancel the reservation made using the 112 borrowed points - and then make another reservation needing 170 points - you would use the 112 borrowed points and 58 current points to make the reservation and then, as long as you are still within the 8 month banking period, you could still bank any remaining points from your current Use Year- in this case 82 points.

If you are already in the last 4 months of your Use Year you won't be able to bank any points and any of your points (current or borrowed) remaining in your Use Year will expire at the end of that Use Year.

I think the key here is to make sure you are unlikely to cancel when you'll need to borrow points for a reservation.

Good luck!
