We currently own only at SSR but are interested in adding on a contract at another DVC resort with the same use year. Here are my two questions for those of you who have experience with multiple resorts, same use year:

1) Are you able to bank and borrow the contracts at each resort separately?

2) When you make a reservation inside the 7-month window, can you designate which pointscontract you want to use toward that reservation?

Thanks!

Easy answer - yes. How it works on online system - don't know. We have contracts at SSR & BLT on same UY and have borrowed & banked from each as necessary, and designated from which contract we want to use the points.

Yes to both questions- I do it all the time. I have 4 different home resorts and make some very complicated reservations.

You can even borrow from one contract even though you have current points on another. (Although I couldn't do this online- but I have done it on the phone.)

I have a related question:

If you have a mix of resale and direct contracts at the same resort, same UY, are you able to manage those points independent of each other as well? For example, if you wanted to make a reservation at the 11-month mark at your home resort and only wanted to use your resale contract (which might include borrowing from the next UY of that resale contract) without touching your direct contract, is that allowed?

I'm guessing the answer is yes, but just wanted to confirm.

Thanks again!

You should be able to. Each contract is given a separate number. You would just have to specify to member services which contract to use.

Yes, I do this online all the time. You select which contracts to pull points from in order. The only thing that you can't specify online (but I'm sure you can by phone) is that it uses borrowed points first, then banked points, and finally current points. So for example, say I have seven contracts, but I only want to use three for this transaction. (subcontracts, really, as they're all the same contract number and use year, but various home resorts.) I select those three contracts, and put them in the order I want to use them. Then it will pull the borrowed points from contract 1, then 2, then 3. Then it will pull the banked points from contract 1, then 2, then 3. Then it will put current points from contract 1, then 2, then 3. There's a little animation online that shows you all this. After the transaction is done, it shows you your remaining points everywhere, and if you don't like what it did, you have a one-time chance to cancel without penalty, even if, say, you're booking less than 1 month out so otherwise they'd go into holding.

That all makes sense. Thanks again for the help! Much appreciated. :)
