banking and use question

Our use year is October thus I need to bank leftover points this month. If I make a reservation for October 2010, will the banked 2010 points be used for that reservation (making the reservation after the points are banked)? If so and if I have to cancel (canceling more than 30 days before reservation date), will the points then revert back into the “banked points” slot to be used prior to Sept 31, 2011?

the only pts you can bank right now are oct 2009 pts.

a reservation for oct 2010 could use banked 2009 pts, borrowed 2011 pts or current 2010 pts (they are current 2010 pts regardless of when you call to make the reservation - even if you called in nov 2009 to book oct 2010).

if you cancel the oct 2010 reservation which uses the banked 2009 pts, they will still be banked 2009 pts which will expire at the end of your 2010 UY (which is at the end of sept 2011 as you noted).

You need to keep track of, and tell MS what points you want to use.

Once banked, the points act just like the next years points other than they can not be banked again.

Thank you. That is what I thought but wanted confirmation I was interpreting the rules correctly.

Chalee94, also, thank you. I did mean banking and using the 2009 points for the Oct 2010 reservation. With the late use year it is confusing (to me) since my 2010 points actually pop in late in the year.
