Banking and two different contracts.

I have two contracts one at BCV December use year and one at BWV October use year. I am wanting to book AK for a stay in November at my 7 month window. I was going to use my BCV points for this stay. Should I transfer my BCV points to my BWV contract to protect me if I would have to cancel my stay for some reason after my banking deadline has passed?
If I book with the BCV points and have to cancel after my banking deadline those points would expire at the end of November without me being able to bank them. My thoughts were to transfer them to my October BWV account and then bank them. I would then use them for my November AK stay and if for some reason I had to cancel the points would go back into my BWV account, wouldn't they?

The transferred points still retain their own use year. So they would still expire on the last day of their own use year if not used or banked.

So if they are December 2013 BCV points and I transfer them into my October use year BWV points and then bank them they will not expire until November 30 2015?

They are suppose to keep their original UY and home resort status.

I say suppose to, I see a couple of potential problems. The first is that you have more than one UY, the second is that you are transferring points. Both can cause problems, MS can lose track of the points and you and MS don't understand the rules for using the points. The transferred points are not visible in your account online.

That is correct. The transferred points will retain their original Home Resort status and Use Year. If they are December, 2013 points, they can be banked to extend their use until November 30, 2015.

MS can easily track this in your account. I would still make sure these points are maintaining their proper status. Since they are usually not viewable in your online account, you will need to contact MS to do so. This may be done by phone or better yet, ask for an accounting by email and they will send you a status in print - if you have questions about that status, I would send another email and also call.

Things may have changed in the last year or so but when we had our transfer problem, I was told by MS management that transferred points are noted on the account as a notation on page 3 of the screen for MS. If they don't look for it, they won't see it. The points were not listed in the section with other points.
