If I bank points into the 2009-2010 UY (my UY starts June 1) and then need to take a vacation March 2009, I can "borrow" from the UY starting June 1, 2009 right?

I know that banking and borrowing are final transactions--so does that mean the points that are "borrowed" have to be ones that would have otherwise been in the June 1, 2009 UY or if I now have 210 points in June 1 UY (rather than 160) will MS just pull "points" and not differentiate?

Ultimately my question is: if I have banked points into the next year, can I borrow them back into the current year?

I'm new to all this, but I don't think you can borrow your banked points. If you bank your 2008 points into your 2009 use year and then decide to take a trip in March 2009, you would have to borrow from your 2009 points. You would only be able to borrow the 2009 points, not the banked 2008 points. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I just phoned ms with the same question. Once you bank the points into the next uy they can only be used in that uy. What you would be doing is borrowing points from the next uy for your booking.

With a June use year, a March 2009 stay would be in your 2008 use year (6/1/08 to 5/31/09). You could use banked 2007, current 2008, borrowed 2009. You can only borrow original 2009 points, you cannot borrow 2008 banked points.

Thanks everyone--I knew you'd set me straight!
