banked pts and making a ressie on line

I want to make a ressie and use my banked points first. If I do the ressie on line, will it take my banked before it uses my current?

Yes, it will take the banked points before current. If you have more than more than one contract just make sure you have all with banked points selected. Sometimes it doesn't look like it's going to do it correctly, but it will in the end!

I actually have the opposite question to that above... even if I have some banked points, can I make a reservation specifically using current year points?
I have points banked from 2020 and I’m looking to book a trip in September 2021 but there’s a possibility I will end up cancelling the September trip. Can I use current year points for the reservation so that I can bank them in October if we cancel? (March UY so October banking deadline).

You can force the system to use your points from the 2021 annual allotment on the September reservation by booking a phantom reservation that uses the banked points first.

Once you have booked both reservations, you can cancel the phantom reservation and the banked points will be freed up.

Just make sure that you cancel the phantom reservation at least 31 days in advance so that the points don't go into holding.
