Banked points

So over on the Canadian thread have a fellow Canuck that had banked points set to expire later this year. Called MS and was able to get them banked to 2022. Yes these were 2020 banked into 2021 points.
Not sure if this was a special thing, or if MS is doing this for international since we can not travel.
Has anyone else heard this?
Not that I can since this whole banked points is new to me. Just learning what current UY points are, as we were always borrowed points people.

It’s been reported. It has not been advertised so you need to call and they can let you know what points you have that are eligible.

Reports have varied as to how they are being handled but I was able to have mine extended as well.

oh this has given me some hope i am having to cancel for the 2nd time(moving to Aug 2022) due entirely to covid restrictions and was sad to think I would lose the points I used from 2020. I will call and see if they will allow me to carry them forward to that replacement booking

2 weeks later! I have called at various times every day but have not been able to get through to an advisor.( I dont hold for more than 30 minutes though) I feel sorry for the operators they must be so so busy. I really don't want to rent out the points as we'd have to then borrow for our trip and I need all the points I can get for a larger family trip we had planned for 2023

I did get informed by MS via chat that they are allowing banked points from 2020 to be extended to 31 May 2022..........this is just something I'm considering if I need to cancel my summer trip
