Can we use our banked points to book through RCI? (It is only around 50 points and we are trying to sell them. They expire in 2 months and I have found a resort 5 hours away that has availability for a few nights.) thanks

As long as you are using them to book the reservation now and not depositing them to RCI for a future reservation, you should be ok. Dean will post a correction if I'm wrong. Someone in another thread posted that they called and were told the limit was 45 days, but I don't know for sure.

If you've found something that works, I would suggest booking it online through the DVC RCI website now. If you don't, it may not be available later. The process takes about three days and you will be charged the $95 fee when you book. If there is a problem, DVC will call you and let you know.

Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I wondered about booking through RCI or calling Disney and now I know. It is a new resort that just opened in April so I am excited. Plus to explore an new area.

It's 45 for full use, 14 for limited but I wouldn't do under 15. I think they'll limit you to a full weeks for a studio at a minimum but you may want to check. Then using them with the exchange fee AND extra housekeeping fee will be unreasonable.

By unreasonable do you mean it will cost too much? thanks

(I have checked and found a place where we can go for 4 days. One of the few places and I think it might be because it just opened and has a lot of vacancies for the summer.)

Partly cost, usually finding something is also an issue. So you're looking at the exchange fee plus housekeeping fee plus loss of the points. Just check to see what the actual costs are, I've seen housekeeping fees of as much as $95 though usually their in the $30-75 range. If you see something that works and the costs are reasonable in your situation, no reason no to. For such options though it's often just as cheap to rent from an individual without using the points.
