Banked, Borrowed or Current?

What use year status are your points usually in, banked, borrowed, current or maybe, current with banked, current with borrowed, current with banked and borrowed?

When I bought into DVC I vowed never to borrow. I want to be able to go to WDW every year using my points. I know that if I borrowed even a few points, I'd call back for more and more until my allotment was gone--and I would have to miss a year at WDW. (This would not please me!) I usually have very few to bank at year's end--I plan very carefully! (It's work, but it's fun!)

I don't quite understand the question....do you mean after we make all our ressies for our use year? Somehow I think I could pick "all of the above". I have VWL points borrowed and BWV points banked right now....but next year it will be the opposite.

Unless you always stay the same # of nights in the same size room at the same time of year its really hard to stay perfectly current. So far it seems like we're juggling a lot! My goal is to stay as close to current as possible.

My point of the poll was to see how members used their points. With taking a cruise, my points are borrowed. I have a reservation next summer at OKW that is using borrowed Dec 2002 use year points. There are some left which I will use in 2003(they will be current points) but to complete a decent reservation, I'll need to borrow Dec 2003 points into the summer of 2003 to make this reservation. I could skip a year at one of the resorsts I own at, then, skip the following year at the other resort to get current again, but, this way is working fine for us.....spruce

I for see us being in a perpetual state of borrowing. The kids can worry about not having points in 2042!

But, remember, you don't get any points in 2042. DVC ends In January 2042 I think. That means no reservations after Jan 2042. My Dec 2041 use year would have to be used by the end of Jan 2042. Also, there are no Jan use years anywhere so no one gets points in 2042(Mods, Am I right ). Not that it matters, I'll be 81 y/o if I'm lucky.....spruce
