DS18 made a payment for tuition yesterday at his college. It was on his bank account online yesterday. This morning I checked and it was not there. I went to check his account features to see if maybe he was over his one time purchase limit (which I am pretty sure is $200 more then what this payment was) and it said there was not a check card associated with that account. Does this mean his debit card got canceled somehow yesterday?? It is a Wells Fargo account if that matters. I will have him call the bank later but he isn't up yet nor is the bank open.

Please update us when you get the info. I am puzzled by this, as the payment would not have been accepted (I assume he paid by debit card) if the money wasn't there and the card didn't 'exist'.

Are you sure you're checking the correct account?

I am positive I am checking the right account.

He made the payment, by debit card (Visa Check card actually) associated with his checking account-which he has had for 5 years now. The charge showed up online yesterday in the "pending" transactions and his account balance was $300 less (the amount of the payment). He has more than enough money in the account to cover $300. This morning I went to check his account to see if he ordered an online thing he needs for a class (he didn't) and I noticed the balance was back up to what it was yesterday before this payment and there is no record of the payment.

I am thinking they either blocked the transaction for "unusual" activity but since it is a "college" checking account and the debit came from the college financial aid office it would go through or somehow they canceled the card after this transaction?
