Band parents help please

Its time for our annual Band Festival. Our school hosts a huge festival with almost 20 bands performings.

In the program there is a place for senior tributes......I NEED help with wording for my son.
He is Drum Major and an excellent student, is looking to go out state(NC) to a Northern East school.

I am in a panic because of course this is all being done last minute (for various reasons...not all mine).

So.....any ideas for simple one or two lines???

We did the same thing for our daughter. She was a 3 year DM among many other leadership positions. My favorite quote is from Dr Suess "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own.
And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go.”

She found it in one of those vynl wall clings and ordered it for her dorm room wall last year. I think it meant a lot to her.

another band senior mom here... Mine is going out of state as well - Ole Miss. We have our band festival in 2 weeks...

I was thinking something along the Disney line...

or..did he have a favorite childrens book? is there a quote that might be fitting ?

Congrats to your son & the pp too! This year so far has been full of "lasts" for me...last first day, last homecoming game, last homecoming dance...I must admit I've cried more than once....it's gonna be a tough year - & I still have another one at home!

I can't remember exactly what I put for DS21's senior tribute, but I use to sing You are my Sunshine to him when he was little so the last sentence of his was "You truly are my Sunshine!" As bad as he had warned me NOT to put anything about Sunshine in there, he LOVED it!!

I love the quote from Winnie the Pooh "You are braver than you think..." or something like that. But I LOVE the Dr Suess one. Going to find that one as well!
