Baltimore, Maryland budget trip

Why bump this thread? if your trip was over Easter, haven't you already visited?

It was for another poster who was asking questions about Baltimore with teens.

If you go to Little Italy (which I think is a must do,) you should go to Vaccaro's It's an Italian dessert restaurant - to die for. We sometimes skip dinner in the summer and make that our dinner. As a native Baltimorean, I'm chuckling at the people warning you to be safe. Seriously the day after the riots, the misdirected kids went back to school and life went back to normal. Yeah, we still have our fair share of bad neighborhoods like any city, but you shouldnt be concerned visiting downtown . As we saw yesterday, insane violence can break out in any city - its not something we are doing everyday here.

We had such a good time this past March that I booked another trip..this time in May when the weather will hopefully be a bit better.

It's been a while since we went to Baltimore but when my son was younger he loved Uno Pizzaria in the Inner Harbor because he could make his own pizza there. We also have always loved going to Sabatinos in Little Italy for dinner and then Vaccaros for dessert.

I just bought our national aquarium tickets. I'll be looking at groupon and living social from now until May for discounted activities.

There is a SHAKE SHACK in the Inner Harbor. We LOVE their burgers. Next year, we are staying at the Hotel Monaco Baltimore(Kimpton) for 1 night and the Renaissance Hotel Inner Harbor (Marriott) on points.
