Has anyone stayed at Ballys in Vegas?

The location looks great but the reviews in TA seem a bit hit and miss.

We have a great rate for the North Tower which is where all the new refurbed rooms are and an ever better rate for the south tower older roooms....

anyone give me any first hand experiences?

Bally's is my preferred hotel on the strip. It's a great location, and I've never had a problem with the condition of the room. It's been a few years since I've stayed in a South Tower room, but I recall them being a good sized room, with only minor wear.

The north tower room basically give you a similar room to the adjacent Paris, but at a lower rate.

DH's parents stayed there a few years back, and we visited them in their room. Bally's is in a great location. It is also attached to the Paris, which makes it great for casinos and shopping. DH's parent's room was nothing to write home about (very plain compared to the Bellagio (where we stayed that trip) or the Venetian), but it was clean and decent sized and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I think it is a good choice assuming you don't want to pay the prices for a place like the Bellagio or Venetian. Actually, on our last trip to Vegas, the Aria was new and we went and visited it. We hated it. The casino felt like a steakhouse. I would take Bally's over the Aria any day.

Bally's is an older hotel with a great location. Our room was decent and clean. It suited our needs just fine.

You could easily spend two or three times more to stay across the street at the luxurious Bellagio, if that is more to your liking and budget.
