Ballroom Dancing lessons

Has anyone tried the dance lessons. Are for basic dancing, like waltzes or more sophisticated (ie. difficult) dances like Samba? I ask because I am really not a very good dancer and would love to learn how to dance for "real" and not just hang on to my husband and sway. Thanks.

The Cruise Staff hosts the dancing lessons and there are about 3 different lessons on the Eastern held in Rockin Bar D on the sea days. We had basic dancing (line dancing, cha cha....some of the dance steps that they do at deck parties) Ballroom dancing and they had a Latin dance class as well that we did not get to.

Andrea from cruise staff is a great dancer and teacher and if you sail before July (she leaves the ship then) tell her Mary Jane from New York said hello!!!

DH doesn't like to dance. PERIOD. I don't beleive there are dance lessons on the Wonder. Otherwise DH would have shredded the navigator before I got my hands on it.

Could you advise how large the dance floors are on the Disney Cruise Ships? Also, do they do formal social get-togethers with other Ballroom dancers?

We recently participated in Dance Cruise on another cruise line, and was curious about the program here!

I can so relate to this. I took a few ballroom dances lessons at Fred Astair when I was a teenager but you know what they say, "If you don't use it....you lose it".

Wish my partner was willing to do this. I'm sure not going to hold my breath though.

Two weeks ago on the Magic I saw Salsa lessons going on in the Premenade Lounge with Karen from cruise staff...it was quite croweded....much more so than when they have it down in Rockin Bar D....I think people saw what was going on and just joined in as they were walking by.
