Ballpark range for SSR

I would go with the larger contract. We started with a 100 points. Within a year we bought another 50. We purposely don't want many points as we like to travel other places. It would have been cheaper if we had bought the 150 in the first place.

We bought in 2011 and I can't believe how much resale prices have risen. Our 100 point contract at SSR we purchased for $50/point.

Lots of people say bid too low and it will be taken with ROFR, or no one will let it go for that amount. I say bid with what your comfort level is and if you lose it either way, oh well on to the next.
We now have 2 contracts, and the last one was listed $20 more than we put an offer in for. We were expecting a negative or at least a bounce back offer. Even the agent said its not going to go, but he had to ask his clients. Well low and behold they accepted, passed ROFR and in 2 months we had our second contract.
As a lot have said here we don't know what triggers ROFR, we also don't know why someone is selling and might just have to get out.
Bid what you want and see what goes.
Good Luck

Here is another tip. Follow the listings for the major resale sites. Narrow down to the listings with SSR and the use year that you want. Now, follow them for a couple of months. Make your offer on one of the ones that has been listed the longest. They may be willing to take a low offer. Someone who just listed yesterday is much less likely to accept a low offer. They may need some time to get educated on the market before they are ready to cut a deal.
