On the subject of birthdays i just thought i'd share what treats we got for my 21th birthday on our trip in june.
When checking in my mum and i asked if we could have a room with a balcony and told them it was my birthday to see what they could do,but they didnt have any rooms that could that slept 4 with a balcony so instead they gave us a VIP fasspass which meant we could go straight in for breakfest without having to wait.
On my actual birthday my mum had brought some 21st balloons from home and had blown them up whist i was asleep the night before&hid them in the cupboard or blew them up when i was in the bathroom in the morning -either way it was i lovely surprise.
We then booked to eat at cafe mickey which was really nice, the characters rotate between down and upstairs with three characters at a time and as we were there 2hours we saw mickey about 4 times. Then a the end of the meal i had a birthday cake which mum had pre booked, and the waiters, characters and the rest of the restaurant in fact started singing happy birthday which was lovely but abit embrassing lol. With the childrens birthdays i think they got them up dancing with the characters.
Anyway i'm sure if you phone disney or the hotel they can arrange for some baloons in your room.
