Bald head Island?

Have you ever been there? I may be going to a beach wedding there in May and I'm trying to find out everything I can about it.

LOL! Yes, it's real. It is off the coast of North Carolina.

I knew of Nags Head, or something like that, which also made me wonder , but this one is something new, where are they getting these names?? I don't know if I'd want to brag about getting married at Bald Head Island

I am curious about Bald Head Island, also! I never been there, but I want to get there maybe later this summer. I am a big lighthouse fan, and I desperately want to visit the lighthouse there. All I know is that the island is accessible by ferry, and it is a passenger only ferry. No cars allowed on the island, I think. I also read that you need reservations for the ferry, but I have no idea how big the ferry is, or how far in advance you need reservations. I think there are golf courses and vacation houses on the island. I hear it is very peaceful and pretty place. It's near Cape Fear, I think, in the southern part of North Carolina.

I would also love to hear from someone who actually been there!

I've been to Cape Fear but not Bald Head Island. We wanted to go there but the Ferry was just too must for a family of 5. I don't remember the exact cost, but it was expensive. I would have really loved to see the light house there.
