My family and my dm will be putting down a deposit hopefully by the end of the month for the "special" Magic itinerary for the 11/2006 sailing. Although we have cruise RCI many times, have only cruised DCL once on the Wonder when it first came out.
I am aware of the SPR but we usually book a balcony and connecting rooms. Anyway, are there "special" or "secret" cabins that are better than others that are balcony rooms?
I know on RCI the aft cabins are better since the balconies are bigger and they also have 4 balcony rooms that connect to inside that I usually try to scoop up for my family of 4 but not sure about DCL.
This cruise, we will only get two connecting rooms. One for my family of 4 and one for my mom. We plan on paying full fair for the one child we will have in my moms room and 3 passenger rate for the 3rd person (child) in my room.
If I remember correctly the Kids Clubs are on the 5th floor so I don't want to be on that floor although I know that the rooms are on the other side. This just all came about very fast yesterday so I have a lot of research to do LOL
I'm also going to WDW next month so will be back and fourth on this board as well as Theme Parks.
ANY help you guys can give me will be so much appreciated!
Thanks!

All the cat 6 and above balcony cabins are exactly the same, except for a few that are on the absolute back of the ship, none like you are describing. The ones aft Disney holds back to offer for handicapped cruisers however, don't think you can just book them directly unless you need it.

There are few other special cabins, but they don't have a bigger or connecting balcony, they have one that's actually on the inside of the hull and are more enclosed. They are the cat 7 Navigator's Verandah, not what I think you're looking for, as they also are 3 passenger cabins.

Our Cat 6 aft, cabin 6644, starts the verandas that have the solid metal wall veranda, not the plexi glass....

Here is a pic that shows the railing of the veranda and small piece of the wall. Also you will see that the top of the veranda opening is a bit smaller than regular veranda cabins due to the curve and design of the ship. Neither of these issues impacted our enjoyment of the cabin/veranda at all....though we were two adults...I could see the solid wall as an issue with smaller kids who would not be able to look out unless someone was holding them up.

To the left of our cabin were the Navigator verandas (Cat 7) and to the right were cabins that had wider verandas due to the curve of the ship.

Thank you both very much :) I knew I could always count on my dis friends.
Right now, I have a hold on connecting cabins 6070 and 6068. I would prefer to have a full plexiglass balcony. Meaning when I sit, I want to still be looking out onto the water and not a metal bottom. The CM told me that I have a full view, not metal on the bottom. I have the cabins on hold with DCL directly, since I wanted to get a base start for pricing. I have e-mailed DU and have also called and sent e-mail to cruise planners. Do my cabins sound good and what I want LOL Thanks :)

I am going to book today.
I rather be in the middle towards the aft than the front/middle.
My rooms would be over the clubs. Being over the clubs, would this still be a problem? Do you think I should just pay the extra and move to the 7th deck? Please anyone? Thanks.

Another thing that's great about the plexi-glass walls on the verandahs is that you can see the ocean as soon as you enter the cabin, and from ANY point inside the cabin. I wouldn't want a verandah with a solid wall, it would block so much of that beautiful view! I think your cabins are in a great location :)

I don't think you should move, you will be fine and you have full view balcony. The clubs are more towards the center of the ship, you will be over the secret passages for the kids to get from club to club and life boats. You will love your spot as you will be very convenient to the elevators and midship. You will have no problems there. We were in 6088 and very happy there. Very quiet as well. Good luck.

Thanks!
Just booked and kept our two connecting cabins :) Looks like a great spot and just a stairway away from brining my ds-8 to the clubs :)
