Did anyone ever get a full balcony in a std room at BC?

We are considering changing our res to BC from BWI (mostly for the pool area for our 3 yr old). We would like a full balcony.

I know you can request it, but are our chances better w/a waterview room rather than a std view room?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks, Beka's Mom:D

If you go to the YC/BC faq up on top of this board, you will find links to floor plans of the BC. you can see all of the room numbers, the views, bed sizes & balcony sizes. It's great! The rest of the thread is long, but Joe does talk about requesting rooms quite a bit.

hope that helps :D

Ask for the 5th floor at the BC. They have the full balconies. But check out the FAQs just to make sure.

We decided to switch to BC pimarily for the pool, restuarants, and the fact that we stayed at BW last year...

Anyone have advice on the balcony situation?

We currently have ressies for a std view room w/ room requests made for full balcony/patio near quiet pool.

DO WE HAVE A BETTER CHANCE AT FULL BALCONY W/WATERVIEW ROOM? IF SO, I WILL UPGRADE TO WV ROOM!!!

Thanks, Beka's Mom:D

We stayed at the BC a few times and only once did we get a substandard room. I would make a request for queen size beds and a balconey belfore you go. We had to have our room changed the day after we checked in because I didn't make any requests and they stuck us in a room that they shouldn't give to any paying guest.

As long as you requested a full balcony, your chances should be just as good with a std. view room. We stayed there in June and requested a full balcony and garden view and received a full balcony on the second floor overlooking the courtyard where the volleyball court is located. We also had a better view of the lake than in some of the water view rooms we have had:D

The full-balcony rooms are spread pretty evenly around the building.

Checking-in early, when the available inventory of rooms is the largest, would probably help your chances also.

I would definatly look at a map to see what floors have the full balconies (i can never remember and BC is my fav). But, we have stayed there for the past three years and got full balconies each time. Once was on the bottom floor though and we had a little patio, it was still very nice because we got to play with a duck that kept coming by. We had a "water" view (all you had to do was turn your head to the left and there it was). I don't remember if we requested a full on each time (most likely) so they are usually good about it.:p :smooth:

Beka's mom,

If you go to the yc/bc faq (it's one of the threads permanently tacked to the top of the resorts board) and scroll down past the pictures of the room layouts, you will see a section called "Room Requesting." Then you will see info on how to get a great standard view room. I think that all of the info you could possibly need is on the first page of the FAQ.

Here is a link to it:

You will find that most of the Beach Club second floor rooms, regardless of view, have full balconies. The floor plans everyone is talking about are maps of the hotel, not the rooms, and every room is labelled with balcony size, bed type & room view.

Also, if a full balcony is the most important thing to you, you may want to consider switching to the Yacht Club. All (or almost all?) of the rooms have full balconies.
