We will be staying in the DL Hotel on 9/1 and 9/2. I have seen pictures of the rooms, and it appears they have a balcony. However, I can't tell if they are standing room only or if there is a table and chairs on the balcony.

We are hoping to get the Dreams tower overlooking the pool, and thought it would be nice to sit on the balcony and enjoy a glass of wine.

Thanks for your help.

There is very little room on the balconies at the Disneyland Hotel. There is not even much room to stand.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think they call them Juliet balconies. They are more like a ledge. But you can lean out and look over. Just no room for chairs. I love the pool view there, too.:)

Wow, that is small. However, the pool view is nice so hopefully we get that. We are going during a weekday, and its before the Labor Day weekend. Hopefully the hotel won't be to crowded. I just don't want to look at the parking lot!

Wait a hoo. There are full, true balconies on SOME rooms. I have stayed in one. It was in the Wonder tower. The rooms that face toward DCA/DLR have FULL balconies on the end. It was a huge room by the way with a great layout. Never got that style again. Just trying to clarify that real balconies exist but are rare.

Wow, thanks very much. I will take that information with me and ask at the desk when we check in if those room are available. Thanks for the tip! Happy 4th of July.

You know I've seen those balconied rooms in the Wonder tower and wondered (no pun sorry ;)) if maybe they were suites. I think I'll see if one is available when I check in this October.

I have been known to push my desk chair over to the open sliding door and enjoy the view and fresh air.

Honestly, those balconies when I have a high up floor make me nervous to the point of feeling ill. When my kids were younger in particular. But the views are incredible from all but one side of the Wonder Tower.

They're in the process of renovating the DLH rooms, which will include the removal of the 'Juliet' balconies. The new rooms won't have any balconies at all, just big windows. When all is said and done (in three years or so), all the windows will look like these blue ones:

Sad, but true.

I feel the same as Amy&Dan about the balconies making me kind of sick, but only if I try to step out on them or when I thought about my kids going out there. Nevertheless, I love having them because I can open the doors wide and let in the air...last Nov. we had a Dreams room with DTD view and we opened our doors, slid the daybed over and watched the fireworks. Now THAT was magical!!

I really wish they were not replacing the current sliders with fixed windows. Too bad they couldn't at least make it so you could get some outside air.

2 years ago, we stayed in a 1bedroom suite in the Wonder Tower..top floor..and we had a balcony. My kids loved it...I was a nervous wreck.

Last year we stayed at the GCH on the 5th floor with a balcony. I was reading the paper on the balcony and looked up to see one of my 5-year-olds just climbing from a chair to the balcony railing. There is a little roof overhang below, but from the overhang to the ground below was a long drop :scared1: That's one thing that makes me really nervous about the GCH balconies--the overhang gives you a false sense of security and the chairs and table make it easy for little ones to climb up to the railing. Needless to say, we never let it happen again. OMG.
