Hi, everyone,

I am taking my DIL and DS and DGD to the BC this fall and we have discovered my GD won't go to sleep in a motel room while others are awake and talking. A few of the nites she will be alone with one of us while the others enjoy the FWF, but other nites we will be in the room with her. I would like to be able to sit out on the balcony while she falls asleep in the room, but understand that unlike the YC or the BWI not all the rooms have a full balcony. What is the best strategy to get a room with one of the full balconies. I know nothing is guaranteed but is there a particular room to ask for or particular area or what do you think works best? Thanks.

I would say to just make your request known prior to arrival... if you booked through a TA, have them note it on your reservations. If you booked it yourself through CRO, just call them up and give them your conf. # and ask if at all possible to get a room w/ a balcony.....

There are no guarantees, but it's worth a try :)

Your best bet is to put the balcony as your only request on the reservation. Also by getting there early you have a better chance. When you check-in, ask them if your room has a full balcony. If it does not, ask them if you can switch and tell them you don't mind waiting for it. Nine times out of ten if you are there before 10 AM in the morning, although your room won't be ready, you will probably get the balcony if you are willing to wait.

Make sure your request states "full balcony", some of the rooms have a standing room only balcony. If you are really that concerned the YC would be a better choice. Good Luck....we love the BC.

Thanks, that is what I will do. I can't get the YC now as I booked last December while at the BWI for free dining and the promo is over - but have wanted to stay at the BC forever so am really excited. I will call and ask for a full balcony. Does anyone know which rooms have a full balcony? I presently have a standard view. If I upgraded to a water view would I get a full balcony? I hadn't asked for a water view as I understand from these boards that it wouldn't guarantee a good view. Any ideas on that? Thanks.

I think it goes by floor and the part of the building. Some parts only have 4 floors, others 5. The one time I stayed there, I requested a room with a full balcony and got one on the 5th floor, above the valet parking entrance. I think the first floor has patios, 2nd floor full balcony, top floor (4th or 5th) full balcony, 3rd standing room, 4th standing room if not top.

Standard view vs water view doesn't make a difference.

Thanks, DebbieV,
What view did you have from your room, if you don't nind my asking? Were you able to see any fireworks? Did you like your view? This is the firstg visit for my DDIL and DS and baby. I want this to be realy magical for them.

This was before the villas were built (1998), but we could see Spaceship Earth and if you leaned over the balcony a little you could see Illuminations. With the villas there, the view might be blocked. I also believe the room I was in maybe concierge now.
