Was just informed that there is a small Super Bowl party at my house because we have the biggest TV...I was going to make some baked beans, but don't want to go to the grocery store as it is so cold and stormy.

I do have a few cans of Buschs Baked beans...Any idea how to spruce them up to be better?:confused3

Heat them slowly with some crumbled bacon and/or chopped, sauteed green peppers and onions.

I put molasses and a little sugar in mine with bacon on the top. Then I slow cook them in a 300 degree oven for a few hours.

add some bar-b-que sauce, some onions and bacon....do you have any honey or molassess????

I like to add cayenne pepper, and maple syrup (or brown sugar).

I saute some onions in olive oil until well browned add some brown sugar, liquid smoke and BBq sauce. Then dump the beans in and simmer for about 30 minutes. That's the only way I do baked beans!!

Here's a great recipe and I simmer mine in a slow cooker (crock pot).

Fry 4 pieces of bacon to a crisp, place on paper towel to cool.
then chop one large onion and brown in bacon grease, the drain.
2 cans Pork n' Beans, drain
1 can Kidney Beans, drain
1/2 C Brown Sugar
1/2 C catsup
1 t mustard (I like brown spicy)

Pour all together in slow cooker on low for 3 hours, stir every hour.

This is a hit everytime!

Mustard does really add great flavor to Baked beans. I add onion, mustard, & katsup.

Add a can of crushed pineapple. It's that simple, juice and all. It may not sound good but it's sweet and surprisingly good.

Bourbon Baked Beans

4 (16 oz.) cans baked beans
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup chili sauce
1 tbsp. molasses
1/4 cup good-quality bourbon
1/2 cup strong coffee
1 (16 oz.)can crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker; cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours. A half hour before serving turn to high and remove cover to steam off excess liquid.

Mine get RAVE reviews. Pour the beans in a 13x9 baking pan. Squirt ketchup on top generously, sprinkle with brown sugar and top with bacon strips. Cover it with foil and bake at 350 for about 30 min. I take the leftovers, throw in diced ham and reheat. Dh has been known to lick the dish :lmao:

I add brown sugar and mustard to canned baked beans.

OK, here is mine, it is awesome! :)

Jiffy Bean Bake

1 medium onion, chopped
2 Tblsp. mustard
2 Tblsp. ketchup

1/4 tsp. garlic salt

Cook bacon until crisp. Crumble and set aside. Cook onions in bacon drippings until tender. Combine with other ingredients. Bake uncovered 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.

I add browned hamburger meat, bacon, ketchup, barbeque sauce, brown sugar, and mustard to mine.

By the title of this thread, I thought the post was going to be something that might belong on the fart thread! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
