I posted yesterday on where to go. Husband and I decided on Nassau. Can 2 adults eat for 3 1/2 days under $1000.00?

While it depends on how you eat/drink, I think you can easily eat for 3.5 days for under $1000. Even at the over priced Atlantis this is doable.

Where did you decide to stay? Will you eat on or off resort? That can make a big difference to budget.

I'm debating on where to stay on Nassau at the moment too.

Just btw, you do need passport to enter the Bahamas

We decided on the British Colonial Hilton. Getting passports soon but travel isn't until May.

We aren't drinkers and are not fancy eaters, just your basic meals will do

Check out Trip Adviser for info on restaurants and their websites. It's a good way to get a feel for prices. Off the cuff I would say probably yes, but I've only been to the Bahamas twice, both times with a cruise ship.

The BCH is a downtown business hotel, not really a vacationer's resort. Beaches and activities are resort based in Nassau, so it will probably be better to switch to someplace else.

BCH has an somewhat artificial beach on the Harbor, right by the cruise ship docks.
I might also change the hotel to the Wyndham, looks better
Good idea, though the Wyndham is is the middle of an enormous construction project: Bahamar. The resort itself is unaffected (top left of the map), but surrounded by this complex.

we went to Nassau a month ago, I prefer Sheraton over wyndham. As we have a 12 and a 14 years old, we split the stay between Sheraton and Comfort Inn.
$1000 for 3 1/2 days roughly translates to 7 meals which gives $142 per meal for two people which is definitely doable, even you factor in breakfast and it will be about $100 per meal.

I agree with the others - the Hilton is in the harbor, a quiet business hotel. We've done day passes at both the Hilton and Sheraton, and prefer the Sheraton. Food is about the same cost at both, but you don't have to eat at the hotel. They Wyndham is next to the Sheraton, and Sheraton guests can use the facilities at the Wyndham, but it is under construction.
