Hi everyone..a friend of mine is heading on the Wonder in March. She is part of a larger group and is looking for an inexpensive (but safe - nice) beach day. She figures Atlantis would cost too much for the group. Any suggestions??
Cabbage Beach is free. It's about ¾ mile down the road past Atlantis, and is basically the "same" beach that Atlantis-goers pay to use. However, there are no amenities there, you're on your own for food, restrooms, etc. You *could* always walk down to Atlantis if you really wanted.
Cable Beach is public but not "free", from what I've read. I believe you have to pay one of the hotels at Cable Beach for access (I've read it's $15 per person at the Wyndham)... however, in return you have amenities available, like restaurants, restrooms, and someone even said there's a casino nearby.
Each beach is super-easy to get to -- just get a taxi from the port terminal, right when you get off the ship. The taxis charge $4 per person, each way.
I have been to Cabbage Beach and loved it. Haven't been to Cable Beach yet, maybe on the next cruise.
