Bahamas?? Alaska??? BAHAMAS! Dream coming true June 21-26, 2011

Yes and I get excited every time it rains...feels like we escaped something! :lmao:

 I know exactly what you mean!

YIKES!!!! I would practically die, I don't think it's EVER got that cold here!

After a winter like this, 40s and 50s feels gorgeous. Of course, in the fall the same temperatures feel much colder. If you really think about it, it's funny how much the temperatures change here over the course of a few months. We've had blizzards in April and 80 degrees in May!

I've already decided that I'll be getting my first spray tan next month, then one more after so I won't be super see-through when we land in Florida

Maybe I should look into this. I am so pasty pale during the winter and I burn SO easily I would never do "real" tanning. I'm afraid of turning orange though. Have you done it before?

Same with me...I am very pale. But I also burn very easily and after too many bad sunburns when I was younger, I just wear SPF 50 now all summer long! My friends make fun of me that I am the only one that can spend 2 weeks in Florida in the summer and come back just as pale as before I left!

I always think about using a self-tanner or going to get something done. But I am also afraid of the results. I would rather be white as a ghost than orange, that has always been my fear! :scared1:

Wow! Sorry been gone for a bit!!

The show was a success and it was a lot of fun, although the days leading up to it were pretty stressful...but a good stress. I love doing this stuff!

We had a pretty good crowd for the show. More people than last year!

How is your workout schedule going?

Yay! I"m so glad the show turned out great!!!

Last week went pretty good! This week I'll do better thought that's for sure! DH and I are leaving to Monterey this Wednesday night for a work conference, so i'll have that thurs, fri, and sat to work out at the hotel gym! :yay:

But this past week I only worked out 3 times but really pushed myself at every workout and I was sore the following day all 3 times! Tomorrow morning is cycling which i haven't been to since January so i'm waaay overdue!

So Mary, Mary, quite contrary....

How is your garden growing?

Omgosh! I just finished about 2 hours ago! It was quite some work to plant all that stuff..

so we have: tomatoes, asparagus, bell peppers, squash, eggplant, okra, green beans, watermelon, strawberries, basil, and parsley! I'm super excited to see our hard work pay off (I hope :worship:) It took all day to clear out a spot, rodatill (sp?) and plant. So i'm exhausted and my body is sore, which is good! I'll have to post some pics when stuff starts to happen!

Spend next winter in Jersey and you won't be disappointed!!!

:rotfl: I would LOVE to head back there during Winter!!! Just to live in the snow for a week or two would be awesome, but i'm sure it sucks after a while!

I've never had a spray tan before! I used to go tanning but then stopped because I knew it wasn't good for me...now i'm OBSESSED about being OUT of the sun..everyday i'm putting a face sunblock on, along with makeup that has sunblock in it too!

But i'll let you know how it goes! A lot of girls get it done around here ( a Cali thing perhaps??) so I think I need to give it a try!

That's really cool, we don't have a lot of space so I've planted two tomato t don't have plants in a pot for the last two years, we used to get tomatoes from my FIL, but I knew he would pass away soon, so I started cultivating my own. We grow two each year and get quite a few tomatoes, but we just don't have room for a full garden.

We're OBSESSED with tomatoes..IMO you can never have enough, they are so versatile...DH really wanted okra (:confused3, I hardly ever make it :lmao:) but everything else we eat pretty much weekly! So i'm very excited!

Hey! I'm glad your workouts are going well! 3 times in one week is great, especially if you work that hard! DH does Chalean Extreme, but not the cardio part (I bug him about that!). He loves lifting weights, and he does it every other day. It has made a huge difference for him in the last 7 months. He has also lost over 20 pounds in 7 months (following Weight Watchers with me)! He has like 3 pounds to go to get to his goal weight, and it is killing him because at the end it comes off very slowly! He tends to lose half a pound a week, and sometimes it frustrates him. I understand, been there! It's amazing how if we gain half a pound, we act like it's huge, and the end of the world, but when we lose half a pound, we think it is nothing. :confused3

My workouts have also been going well (Turbo Fire!). But, I woke up with a sore shoulder this morning, and I think I pinched a nerve because the pain radiated a little. Motrin helps though, but it is frustrating. Monday is my usual day off from exercising, but I am skipping tomorrow too, at the very least. I can't start punching for an hour and expect my shoulder to be fine! :rotfl2: I hate it when I have to skip a workout though...makes me feel like it will make a big difference, but I know that when you do it religiously, it is fine to skip a day if you have to. I'm just neurotic about it.

Hi friends! :cool1:

So I just got back from DH's business trip to Monterey! We left Wednesday and just got back around noon today.

It was fun, except Fri morning at around 4am, we received a call from hotel management saying that our area was in a tsunami warning and that if we wanted to evacuate that we should do so.

I had already been up watching the news in awe so it didn't wake me up, but needless to say, I couldn't go back to sleep after that call, but DH slept like a baby! :rotfl: Luckily, Monterey was fine, but Santa Cruz (about 40 mins from Monterey) got hit a little bit.

Other than that, it was a relaxing few days up there and i'm ready to hit DISNEYLAND for my birthday weekend in two weeks!!!

Glad to hear that you are safe. Have a GREAT time at Disneyland and be sure to post pics of your adventure! We want to see everything, espcially the cool & special parts. ;) Be sure to mention it's your birthday!

I'm SUPER excited to go!! Will probably be busy, but i'll just make use of Magic Mornings :thumbsup2 And of COURSE I'll post pics of the special parts!! I'll make a mini TR within my cruise TR :woohoo:

So I forgot to mention one thing that I did on our Monterey trip....my Brazilian Wax

I figured while DH was in classes, I could take a two block walk up to get a Brazilian to pass the time. Plus, with us going on the cruise in June, I wanted to see how my skin reacts to the wax versus shaving. My skin is very sensitive and the majority of the time I can get 'chicken skin' around my bikini area, and that just doesn't look pleasant at all when you're in a bathing suit. If I liked the wax I would continue to get it done; if not, I would just go back to shaving.

I've heard that these waxes can take up to 20-30 minutes and that sounds waaay to long for me, but after reading some reviews, this woman from Brazil does fantastic waxing jobs and does it in about 15 mins and uses a natural wax and all for $65! Most places I've heard can charge $100 and up! :scared1:

So my appt is at 10:45am but I get there at 10:27am (wasn't sure how long the walk would take me so I left around 10:22ish just to make sure) before I reach the door she walks out and says, "Are you my 10:45?" I say yes and she said she'll take me right now since her next appt isn't until 10:35 umm that would be in seven minutes??

So I go in the room and she asks what I want...bare, strip, etc. Then she says to take off my pants and undies and doesn't even leave the room :lmao: Forgot Brazilians aren't shy to naked bodies!

This wax HURTS! She only did about 6 wax strips on the front, then she asked me to turn over, and did 2 wax strips in the back and it was over. She didn't need to rub any type of lotion on me, since this wax had natural types of healing properties. I got dressed, paid her (with tip of course, who really wants to look at this stuff all day :lmao:) and left. Her 1035 apt was waiting and I look at my iPhone...10:35  She did this in 7 minutes!!!! :yay:

When I got back to the hotel room, of course I wanted to see the work, since there was no mirror back at her office to look, and it was completely clean and not even red! I was not in pain, nor did my skin look like it got pulled apart! :cool1: I was in complete awe that this whole thing took less than 10 minutes and for such a great price!

Today my hair is still gone, no redness, and no stubble! I'm thinking I'll take a day trip up there before our cruise to go see her again, perhaps a week before (depending on how long it takes for my hair to grow back)

So my recommendation for anyone that has sensitive skin and hates shaving, to do your research and find someone GREAT and get this done!

So without asking for TMI...do they wax THAT? or just the area around it? :lmao:

I can't even imagine the pain at the time, but depending on how large the area, it could be  or :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Wow that's great! I'm glad you had a good experience because a bad one....well I don't want to think about it....

I've never had a "brazilian" wax but I do get a "modified bikini" wax and I'm not sure how different they are because she really doesn't...ahem...leave much behind. :lmao: I think you'll be really happy with the way it grows in too...so thin.

Awesome that you were in and out in 7 minutes. Mine take longer and on top of that, the woman who does it has been waxing my eye brows for 10 years so I know her pretty well and she'll always try to talk to me while she's waxing and while I don't mind chatting while she does my brows, it's TOTALLY awkward during a bikini wax. :rotfl:

Do you think we've completely deterred any men from joining in on this PTR?

Let's just say this: Anywhere there's hair, she's gonna get! :rotfl: Yup she does the inside of the labias (she said that was the worst part, which it TOTALLY WAS!) and the anus.

But soooo worth it! Shaving is just a pain in the **** and I always seem to cut myself somehow..:sad2:

I told DH last night, "I don't care what you say, but i'm going back to Monterey for the day before our cruise to see her again...don't care how far she is, she's worth it!" It's kind of like hairdressers...a lot of my friends have particular people do their hair and will only go to them, no one else..so some will drive upwards of 5 hours every 4-6 weeks to get a haircut..People have preferences which I get, and my private part has no exceptions now! :lmao:

I've never heard of a modified bikini wax?! Interesting...okay just looked it up, and this particular waxing place doesn't include waxing the *****...and they do different designs! Not sure I would want a heart down there :rotfl2:

:rotfl: You're right! I'm sure that's would be awkward to have a complete conversation while doing that!!

And i'm 100% positive, any men that are/were lurking, are completely gone now! :lmao:

Hi friends!!

Sorry, not much to update for my cruise trip until April 7. BUT I do have a very fun trip coming up this weekend to DISNEYLAND and I'm soooo looking forward to it!

As a few of you know, my last trip to Disneyland was HORIFFIC :scared1::sick: so i'm really hoping this trip will make up for it and one event in PARTICULAR will totally make up for it! I won't say what it is until I get back and i'll DEFINITELY be posting pictures of our trip!

We were originally supposed to leave on Friday around 4ish when DH gets off of work, but he now has the day off! :cool1: then we got to thinking, let's just leave on Thursday night and stay at Motel 6 for cheap so we're already there! COOL DEAL! I still haven't made the ressie yet, but i'm sure theere are still rooms available...we're also leaving thursday because it's supposed to rain all day on Friday, and I hate traveling in the rain, and i'm afraid the Grapevine will be closed due to snow..

So I won't be back on here until Sunday or Monday when I will post my Mini TR!

On another note, my hair is still gone down there!! :lmao: :rotfl: :yay:

Sorry I've been MIA!

You're leaving today for DL!!!!! :yay::banana::thumbsup2

Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about it, see pictures, and find out about this super-secret event taking place!

Hi Leshaface!

I know I haven't been on here for a while (well, a while for ME anyway ;)), but I have been in a lot of pain in the last couple of weeks. I have been to the doctor several times, and then I went for an MRI. I have a herniated disk in my cervical spine (neck). It's pressing on a nerve root which is why I am in so much pain. It affects my right shoulder, arm and hand (and I am a righty :sad2:). I haven't been to work all week, but the doctor said I can try to go back tomorrow and see how I am, for now.

I have to see a surgeon. The herniation is very bad and I already took a 6-day course of a steroid anti-inflammatory. I made an appointment with a neurosurgeon (at the recommendation of my orthopedist), for next Thursday. He is world-renowned. I am most likely going to have to have surgery to repair this. Gone are the days of intense exercise for me. I will have to change my whole activity lifestyle because of this. No more Test Track or Big Thunder either. :sad2:

So, I am scared and nervous of course. I was a wreck when they told me yesterday. But I also feel relieved that they found the cause of my pain, and it can be corrected.

That sounds awful! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been in so much pain. Surgery is scary but you will be so happy once you're pain free! Best wishes
