Bahamas 5-night 09/01/08

We're booked for the 5-night Bahamas cruise for 09/01/08, just DH and me. Yeah! This will be our 2nd Disney cruise, but our 1st without the kids. My husband doesn't even know yet but I will surprise him with it as an early birthday present. We even have a verandah room on deck 6. Thought we could splurge since it's just the two of us. Double Dip at Castaway Cay AHHHHH - it's relaxing just thinking about it!

Although it will be a surprise for DH, unfortunately it won't be as big as a surprise as it was last October when we surprised our boys with the 7-night Western cruise and were able to get all the way into our stateroom before announcing the surprise that we were really going to stay on board and that our "tour" of the ship was going to last 7 days and not just the afternoon only. Oh yeah we got them good, and while we'll never be able to pull that off ever again, that surprise was priceless!

Hi! I started a thread it is a little buried but a few people checked in! I will be on the cruise with my 2 children who will be 5 and 1 almost 2. My mom and dad are going and my sister will be there with her 2 children. We are really excited. I can't wait already!

I'm sorry I didn't see your thread. I did a search for one using several different key phrases and nothing came up. I know what you mean about you can't wait. I feel like I can't wait either and although I feel like I'm going to bust I can't even talk about it with anyone else except here on the boards because it is a surprise for DH. I can't even tell our boys because they can't keep a secret. Oh well it's going to be a long 19 months!

Will your 5yo be in school then? I really want to book this cruise but I'm mildly apprehensive of my daughter (who will be 4.5yo at the time) missing the first 3 days of school. Of course, I don't even know that she'll start on 9/3, I'm just guessing. I'm probably going to book it anyway, but wondering what others are doing in this situation.

Also, our son will turn 2 on 8/4/08 so sounds like our kids will be close in age.

Twinmom - I forgot to tell you on your other thread that I'm very jealous of your kid free trip! I would love to go kid free and it would solve the problem of my daughter's school, but I don't have anyone who wants to watch both of my kids for 5 nights.

Yes my daughter will be starting kindergarten. I feel bad about that but this is a trip of a lifetime, having my parents and sister going with me is something that never happens. At this price we can all go! My son will be 2 on 9/15/08 so they will be close in age. I am so excited.

Boy, I'm batting 1000 for boo boo's today. I first posted this on the regular DCL board then I saw the cruise meets board and thought I should post it there. Then the administrator moved the original thread over here to the cruise meets board and now we have a duplicate thread going. Sorry for starting all this confusion.

Don't be too jealous, your time will come too. By the time the cruise rolls around our twins will be almost 16 and our other son will be just a few months away from turning 15. Not sure where they will be staying yet or if we have someone stay with them while we are gone, but we'll make sure they are mature and reliable!

I found the other original thread for this cruise. It's better if we just use one thread for this cruise so I'm suggesting that we discontinue replying to this one and use the original thread.
