Bahama Bay Resort

Has anyone stayed at the Bahama Bay Resort???? It states it's 10 minutes from Disney. The prices for 2 or 3 bedroom villas look great! Just wonder if it's as good as it seems.

DH and I are also wondering the same thing. We're currently booked at POP for 7nts in May, but the rates at Bahama Bay look awesome! It does look to be a bit down 192 though... with traffic that can be quite a hike.

Be careful about this one, they have fees that they add to that unbelievable rate. We almost changed from Pop and had it booked until we saw the extra fees.

Cleaning fee: $65 per room/stay
Hotel resort fee: $5.95 per room/night

Book direct with an owner rather than the resort and maybe the fees are included .The resort itself is 8 miles form the parks area close to a Wal Mart and Publix as well as an Applebees new tea rooms opening take outs and is 5 miles from I-4 if you want to go to the coast or visit BG.Using Westside Blvd there is no need to go right to the end of the 192 to get there.

If you are considering the Davenport area (where Bahama Bay is) then I would highly suggest Bella Piazza. New property (just opened March, 08), upscale condos and great rates.
Every single client I've booked in there since last spring has been absolutely thrilled with the accommodations. Property is 8 miles from Disney and there's a Publix grocery store right next door.

I would say that it is more likely 15 mins from the main Disney entrance as we stay in a townhome around 6 miles away and it is 10 mins to DTD and the main entrance arch. Mind you DH did get to the Epcot parking lot extremely quickly one day

We stayed at this resort two years ago as part of a timeshare promotion. We did not feel safe in our assigned unit. There was a gap at bottom of the front door and the door looked as if someone had tried to break in. There was a several hour wait to check in. There were some other minor maintenance issues within our unit as well.

The resort seemed nice and pool area was clean. There was a nice dock for fishing and a nature trail. Perhaps it just depends upon the individual units. We got what we paid for...

I cannot comment on the distance/time to Disney.

WOW! Thanks everyone! Luckily, we have decided NOT to go with this one. I was very skeptical of the pricing, etc. But we were kicking around the idea. We're going back to OKW on property!

It can take 15 mins if the traffic is bad .I stay a few yards away from BB and have travel times been 11-20 mins depending on time of year.
