Baggy, Saggy, Drooping pants.....

"It's obvious, and anybody with common sense can see your parts when you wear sagging pants."

So your parts are invisible to those without common sense? No wonder it doesn't bother the kids who wear them this way!

Many years ago, my then-BF and his brother were helping me move to a 2nd floor walk-up apartment. The brother was about 14 and wore his pants very big and very low - the saggy, pants-over-boxers look mentioned here. Halfway up the stairs with a dresser in hand, his pants completely fell off!! You'd think having to ask his brother's girlfriend to pull his pants up would make him stop, but nooooo. I only hope he pulls his pants up now that he's got to be approaching 30. :scared:

saw a kid with baggie pants on at the mall once he was a goth kid with the really wide legged jeans and safety pins look. He got them caught in the escalator. I thought for sure he was going to lose his leg. One of his friends was fast enough to hit the emergency stop button before the rest of his body got caught up in it. Of course he had to slide the rest of the way out of the pants to get free.

I of course used it as a lesson to my oldest boy. Safety over fashion. Not that he would dress that way, he's a vintage Tee and relaxed fit jeans kind of kid.

Here it's a school thing more than a black/white thing. The public schools wear their pants like this and the private schools wear preppy clothes. Just the way it seems to be. Thankfully my son is preppy!

Makes total sense... same as I think that will happen to kids who wear heelies too often.

I was at a street fair recently and was amazed at the number of kids who were walking on their tiptoes - and they weren't wearing heelies at the time. :rolleyes1

As far as saggy, baggy pants go...my DS12 is dealing with those lately - we bought him new pants and then he grew a couple of inches and they are now too big in the waist! :rotfl2:

The city council in my small town (9,000 people) just recently passed this same ordinance. I applaud it because it is disgusting to look at, and we see it A LOT in this town. I am not talking about just a couple of inches below the waist, either. I am talking about fastening their belts AT LEAST 6-8 inches below their bottoms, so that their underwear and body parts (yes, front and back) are laying on top of the belt. I work for the public schools, and even though our students are required to wear uniforms, it is a constant battle to get them to pull up the pants, tuck in the shirt and fasten the belt. I am in a middle school, and when I have to visit the high school, it is lots more prevalent there. I don't think that the ordinance will end the sagging problem, but at least there is the "law" to back us up when we remind them at school.
