Hi, I'm trying to find a compact, like, durable bag to use during the cruise. Something that will hold a compact camera, a little money, my passport...nothing too big or bulky just something I can wear on embarkation, debarkation, and on shore excursions. I have heard lots of good things about Baggallini bags. I've never owned one so I wondered if anyone had opinions about specific styles? I don't want one where my stuff is out in the open in a card slot type fashion.

I'm open to other brands too if anyone has suggestions.

Also, where is the best place to get these bags at a good price?

Thanks!

I love my Bagallini's (I have 3)
The smallest one is my favorite - wear as shoulder purse, cross chest, or fanny pack. Holds, cel, camera, cash credit cards, emery board, comb, lipstick etc. NOT passport though! does have a window spot for drivers license. They are available on line and in many stores. I bought mine locally. Highly recommend them for travel!

I've had small over the shoulder bags in the past when I travel, and every time I would hate myself for using one by the end of the trip! My shoulder/back ends up hurting almost as much as my feet. Water + camera + wallet + snacks adds up in weight fast.

Now I use a small Vera Bradley backpack. I found one on sale at TJmaxx of all places. It's cute and distributes the weight better. Any small backpack would do, I just couldn't pass up the cute pattern.

I almost thought about getting a backpack style diaper bag... all those extra pockets could come in handy!

I forget the name of mine but it has the little Swiss mark on it...they are a big suitcase maker? My camera and all my incidentals fit in it, it is actually designed as a mini backpack, but you can just use one strap instead of both...it has traveled with us everywhere for 10 years...I know they still make them because I saw one at TJMaxx the other day...It is either Swiss Gear or Victorinox...I get them confused :) It has three separate compartments..but what I like the most about it is it is very protective...that thing has been thrown into boats/dropped on trains/kicked on airplanes and my camera is always protected...it's big enough to just carry the necessities but small enough not to be cumbersome...love it!

Thanks! Do you happen to remember how much it was at TJ Maxx? I'll be it was Victorinox. DH and I both have briefcases by them and they have the Swiss symbol on them. Very durable. I love mine!

We have a Marshall's near us. Perhaps they'd have one as well. May need to run over there later today.

Do you know which model it is? I saw the Bon Voyage bag and liked the looks of that pretty well. The smaller ones look great, too, but a lot of them look like they have just card slots which are not in a zippered compartment and I would like my things to be a little more secure.

I see your point about the weight of the bag with all that stuff. I think I will limit my carried items to my passport, some cash, a credit card, and my camera. DH has a backpack camera bag for his larger camera, so maybe I'll make him carry the waters! Ha ha!

I have several baggallini bags for travel. I find one of the best places to check them out is ebags. Although you can not physically touch the merchandise, they do have a picture to show how the bag will fall on the body, and you can read the reviews (I find these very helpful).

believe it or not my fav is the "Teenie" baggallini. it might look like it only has card slots but trust me it is amazing how much it holds!d I do put my Canon Sure Shot Digital camera, extra battery and SD card, cel phone, cr cds, cash personal stuff etc.
I personally don't like backpack types because I get all sweaty! This little Baggallini is perfect!

Thank you everyone for the input! I headed over to Marshall's last night and was able to get myself a Baggallini for $19.99. It's a mocha color with a light blue lining. It's called the mini everyday bagg. It's just what I needed and I was thrilled with the price! I am sure I'll be able to get my passport, a credit card, my camera, and my sunglasses in it...and probably a little more even though it looks so small.

I have to vote for the mini hipster from vera bradley. I used this on my cruise and it was amazing! So light, I almost never noticed it. I love that the strap is more like a string than a wide strap. I put my camera in the back pocket (and still had room for the wave phone in the same pocket), my kindle inside and my wallet/passport in the front zipper pocket.

Now of course I want a new pattern ;) and I found them on ebay and amazon for about $30.
