Baggage storage

I'll be flying into LAX next Sunday a 11:00 AM, and my friend can't pick me up until after 5:00. Is it feasible to take a cab or limo to Downtown Disney for the day? Then, even more importantly, is there somewhere to store my luggage so i can actually shop? Maybe guest services, or the theme park entrances? I'll have one large suitcase and one carry on. I know someone who stored all of their luggage at WDW when they went straight there from the airport, but don't know how or where to do this at DL. Thanks so much, I've been to WDW many times but this is my first trip to DL.

There are lockers of varying sizes in the esplanade area between DL and DCA.

Do you think they would fit a full sized suitcase with 2 wheels (the most common, popular kind everyone has now)?

Not the size that we rented, but maybe there are bigger ones that others know about.

Check with the hotel, many of them will let you leave luggage in the office area waiting for your check in time....or you might get lucky and they have your room ready early.
