Bag or no bag?

We are taking our dd7 and dd2 (turning 3 a few days after we return from our trip) to Disney for Thanksgiving. We are very excited to go! Even though we will be there for 4 days we will only be going to a park 1 of those days. I was considering not lugging around a tote or backpack this year. Every time we go I fill a bag with what I think we need, and never use it! I figure if I can't fit it into my hip pouch I don't need it. What do you think?

take an umbrella stroller and load the stuff underneath... WDW with a 2/3yo and all the walking is a pain... you KNOW you will have to carry her some part of the way... I tell my kids forget it.. in the stroller you go.. (DD4)

I don't have any kids but I never take a bag or purse into WDW with me (and we go for a week or more!). I find it a lot less cumbersome and it saves my whole group time when they're not waiting on me to get through bag check. I honestly have never needed a bag. They have first aid stations for band aids or if anything else happens that's an emergency and I could always just go back to the room if I desperately needed something (which, knock on wood, hasn't happened yet). For our next trip I'm really considering purchasing a Photopass CD so that I don't have to have the camera hung around my wrist. I put my ID and room card and any money I need in my pockets (which either close or are tight against my body) or I give them to one of the men in the group ;). Anything I buy I have it sent back to the room. I hate being bogged down with stuff!!

I'd put some sort of bag in my suitcase just in case you realize that traveling light in the parks does not work for you. I like those drawstring gym bags for carrying extras. They take up very little room in your luggage and can come in handy for toting stuff to the pool as well as in the parks.

Oh, absolutely we will be bringing the umbrella stroller. However ours doesnt have anywhere to put anything.

Take one of the bags that has 2 drawstrings - the kind that you can use as a light weight backpack. It doesn't take up much luggage space and then if you feel you can't do without it you'll have it. I always try to go bagless but I always want a camera.....

I ALWAYS carry a bag into the parks. I've been a couple times with my DDS(now 5 ) and it was a godsend!!! Now that he's 5, I'm still carrying a backpack but, packing very lightly! I'll put 1 towel in there, in case he decides he wants to play in the water and maybe a change of clothes. I tend to take a little make-up bag with first aid stuff and what-nots but that's about it. Just in case we decide to buy something while we're in the parks. I hate....HATE, carrying stuff around all day. Just stuff it in the backpack and go!

I do not carry a bag. DH likes cargo shorts so we load up the pockets LOL. We are very basic, chapstick, camera, cellphone and roomcards. DD is 10 so we don't have to lug around clothes , diapers etc anymore

It's a lot easier now that my children are teens. Now I wear a lanyard with a ticket pouch for my KTTW card and a few dollars. But I can see the need for a bag when you've got little ones. I used to wear on oversize fanny pack for all the stuff the kids needed. I love being free from that thing!

Great idea with the lanyard rather than the fanny pack!
