After much debate I'm renting a scooter for my mother. We would like to attach a bag for snacks, etc. to the back (there will be 6 adults).

For those of you that have used a scooter....any suggestions?

Mostly packing alot of cold water and snacks to keep the food cost down. As well as sweater & small blanket for mom. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Most rental scooters have a small basket on the front and a pocket across the back of the chair. The basket will hold several (5 or 6) bottles of water, sunscreen, sunglases, hand sanitizer and a hat. The back pocket holds the charger and a towel or small blanket and a 3 to 4 Wal-Mart rain poncho in their original packaging. This I know from personal experience as my family believes my scooter is a camel and should carry everyone's water and all the rain stuff.

You can put a string bag across the back of the chair or even a back pack if it has the longer straps. However, this needs to be removed when parking it on the bus.

I have a backpack which I fill with medical stuff and have it riding on the back of my ECV when I am going through an airport. When I get to the door fo the aircraft I just take the backpack of the ECV and carry it into the cabin with me.

I also sling a backpack over the seat of my personal scooter while at Disney. It's just a regular backpack, nothing special (but it has Pooh Bear on it!), actually it's the pack I carried my books in at college. I usually unbuckle the straps and twine them around the bars holding up the back of the seat before rebuckling, so that you can't just grab the backpack off the scooter easily. I never keep anything expensive or irreplaceable in there and I can leave the backpack on the scooter all day and not worry about having to haul it with me inside every attraction and restaurant I visit.

I've never been asked to remove the backpack while on the Disney buses... I didn't know that was standard procedure. Possibly because my scooter is rather small and the backpack doesn't stick out beyond the rear bumper, so it fits within the size guidelines easily without needing to remove anything.

Thank you. knowing how much the basket holds helps and yes, this scooter will to become our camel. That is one of the few things I miss about having little ones is the convenience of a stroller basket, etc. Unlike alot of women I don't even carry a purse. IF it doesn't fit in my pocket I don't need it. HOwever, trying to save $$ on food I am willing to pack a "camel" bag for the scooter. If I had to carry it I would probably starve instead. :)

Again, thank you all.
