Badge for kids

On the disneyland website it says that on check-in your kids will be given a badge. Has anyone got this? Is this a new thing or have they always done that?

It also says that babysitting service is available 'at most hotels' whereas I have been told (possibly on this forum) that there is no babysitting? Can anyone clarify this?

I think it's the little paper badge that you can also get from City Hall, you can put your child's name on it, and I guess some contact information in case the child gets lost.
