Just checked weather for the Bahamas for the end of this week...

We are sailing on the 4/28 Dream.

Currently weather.com is showing Rain/Thunderstorms.

We have booked a Snorkeling excursion in Nassau and a cabana for Castaway Cay.

What is the Disney cancellation policy once you are on-board for the excursions??? Will they cancel the outdoor excursions like snorkeling if there is bad weather in the forecast???

Has this happened to anyone else?

I know I have to cancel 2 days before departure...if I decide to cancel for no charge...but getting worried about the weather at this point. I dont mind staying on the ship while in port...so much to do and see.

i know my brother had a power boat excursion in Nassau that was canceled due to impending storms. I'm not sure how bad it has to be but they have canceled excursions at which point they credit back to your account.

We have had excursions canceled by Disney due to weather and got full refunds.

What I don't know what they would if the weather is bad, but not bad enough to cancel the excursion entirely. For example, if you book a cabana and the weather is cold and cloudy and you decide it is not worth it for you, but they are still operating on CC, will they let you cancel without penalty?

If you book thru DCL, you are not charged if your excursion is canceled due to weather. Most private operators have the same policy, but read their fine print.

I KNOW that Captain Marvin's does not bill your credit card (which you have to give to book) if your ship cannot tender OR if they feel the excursion would be unsafe.

We had the fishing trip at CC cancelled due to weather. Rather than a refund, it wasn't really charged onto our account. I was bummed out ... I really wanted to do that excursion with my dad. In retrospect, it really was windy. It probably would have been miserable out in the open wind. LOL

I would call DCL and ask about the cabana. I mean that's really not an excursion...it's just a pricey luxury item. If they dock at CC and it's icky out so you choose to stay on the boat it's not their decision it's yours. I would clarify with them if you need to cancel 3 days out or be stuck paying.

On our cruise, all excursions for CC were cancelled due to weather. It was so windy that it took us an extra hour to dock. They were not charged to your account. I do think that the cabanas were open.
