HI-

My DD will be just 9 mo when we go on spring break. I'm wondering if there are specific rides/shows that would be either too intense or too scary for her?

In particular I'm worrying about the 3D stuff like Mickeys Philharmagic, movies in teh round, haunted mansion, the safari in AK, Maelstrom and Mission Space (just kidding about that one :))

Any general tips or suggestions welcome too ::MickeyMo

Thanks!

The same fear factors that make something like haunted mansion scary for a preschooler, would not affect an infant. They just can't comprehend enough to be scared. With an infant that young, I think that the biggest fears will be the loud noises and some of the sensual special efffects and maybe the darkness if that is an issue for her. There are some places in the 3-d movies where they spray water and air but thats about it. She would not get into the bug/scare thing. HM and Safari would be fine, just hold her tight on the safari. A carrier would be ideal. A lot of the shows you might not have even given a second thought are very loud and might upset her. One bit of advice is to try to be one of the first to enter and then move all the way across the theater toward the exit doors. Easy for a quick escape if needed. She should like lots of things and might do well on everything she can go on which is a lot!!!!Enjoy her!!!

My 13 month old DD falls asleep on the KS every time! http://community.webshots.com/photo/112584609/112729119nGJcXa I carry her in a sling, and gently cover her exposed ear (the other is pressed against my body) so any loud noises don't bother her. I've taken her on many rides like this, but haven't tried any shows yet because our 3 yo DS is afraid of shows.

Last summer we took DD on POTC and HM, she was 10 months at the time. She was apprehensive at first, but then she was totally fine and enjoyed watching all the things going on. She was ok as long as she had mom or dad holding her snugly. We didn't take her to any of the 3D movies though.
