My four year old is having a meltdown. And it's all my fault.

He is inconsolable, with those big tears streaming down his face.

He even yelled at me and told me to never do that again!

What started this foot stompin, yelling, and crying meltdown?

He caught me eating a chocolate bar that he forgot he even had.

Anyone else been a bad momma lately?

:upsidedow

My 4 year old is fairly upset with me, somehow, because last year (seriously, last December) we got him a pin at Disneyland that he didn't like (crocodile with Captain Hook in his jaws)... Since he really really really did NOT like it, he traded it to hubby for one he did like (Mickey as a pirate). Then HUBBY traded that pin for something else HE liked.

Suddenly, as we prepare for another Disneyland trip, Eamon has remembered that pin. He now wants that pin. He didn't like it THEN, but he likes it NOW. He hasn't seen it in a year, but he can describe it!

And because I'm the one who told him that he traded it and that hubby traded it, while hubby was trying to tell DS that it's just missing, DS is mad at ME.

4 year olds! :rolleyes1

Whoops! :teeth:

Not a momma yet, but I see the huge meltdowns at least once or twice a week--I'm a children's librarian. It's always amazing to see what sets them off.

Unfortunatly I see more than my share of mommy meltdowns too. Like yesterday, the woman SCREAMING at her 5 year old about being quiet in the library. All the kid wanted was a "scary" book, but mom was too busy doing "important" stuff on the internet (MySpace). It was pretty terrible. She was threatning the little girl that the librarians were going to kick her out and yell at her. I HATE it when parents say that. You're supposed to be quiet in the library out of respect for other people doing work--not because librarians are mean.

That's just the tip of the iceburg! My friend had a teenager chuck a chair at her when she was 6 months pregnant. But that's another thread!

:sad2:

That IS a bad momma. Eating someone else's chocolate is a capital offense here.

I get in trouble all the time for eating one of her Little Debbie Brownies. The child has a cracklike addiction to them. :rotfl2:

Go to your room - and don't come out until I tell you that you can!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My 8yo brother has a meltdown every five minutes. You'd think he'd be old enough not to do that, but no...
