I have a split stay in June by choice. (I wanted an exactly 50 point reservation, had banked points to use.) 1 night BCV/3 nights standard view AKV both studios. DH learned late that he could join me. I have an early morning flight. He'll work the day, and then come, and will probably get to BCV 11PM. Very hesitantly, I did go on a waitlist at BCV for an extra night (2 more points) so DH could enjoy/relax at BCV. The waitlist was set up so only the first night of AKV would be taken, I told them where to take the extra 2points from and thought that this late in the game, the extra night at BCV wouldn't come through.

Yesterday I checked and sure enough, we have 2 nights at BCV but NO nights at AKV. So, I call Member Services and yes, this happened in spite of the fact that the waitlist was supposedly set up properly. Not only the CM but a supervisor checked, and what they were able to do was book me/DH into a 1 bedroom value (for the additional points) and put me first on the waitlist for a standard view studio in Jambo.

Both the CM and supervisor think that the waitlist will come through and that I won't be using the extra points. I'm glad we have a place to stay, but once again, I find myself having a reservation lost when something was done with original reservations. The last time this happened to me was 2 years ago and when I spoke to someone then I was assured that this doesn't happen often and they would be working on "holds" so that reservations wouldn't be lost before the change. This time it was blamed on the computer as in "The computer cancelled the entire reservation."

I'm glad I found it. Thank heavens for a thread here that began "My June waitlist came through!"

That is so wierd!! I remember that last time you had that happen. Maybe it's your account! I have very little faith anymore in the DVC 'comupters'. I really think their programs are so difficult that the agents have a hard time dealing with them to get things "right" when they do it.

Ohhhh Bobbi! pixiedust: That all will turn out fine.

I'm headed over to the member website ASAP. I have a WL for Dec. and would be most disappointed and downright angry if my entire reservation got cancelled!

Thanks for sharing!

Diane, there's no "13" anywhere in my member number, and DiznyDi, thanks for the pixie dust. Closer to when it's 31 days out, if the waitlist hasn't come through, I will ask that the extra points not be put into "holding" since MS has admitted that it was their error, if indeed the waitlist does come through at the late date.

My dilemma is, "Should I ask the waitlist to be for either Jambo or Kidani?" I had originally Jambo, by choice and that is still my #1 choice but really, but we do not need a 1 bedroom for just the 2 nights.

Bobbi, you are much more calm about this than I would be! It is utterly ridiculous that DVC has STILL not fixed their software to keep this from happening. The fact that it has happened TWICE to you means that you should be getting some type of special treatment. Here's hoping that the problem is soon fixed AND that there is some compensation for this second round of headaches for you! :headache:

I agree with Jean. They OWE you something! There should not be the additional points charged, and you should NOT have points in holding either.

boy this is very upsetting. they are not surpose to allow this to happen.

So sorry you are going thru this.

Hope you get what you want! Glad you were smart enough to go look!!!

It is ridiculous that this kind of stuff keeps happening. It really is disheartening to hear that they are not doing more to fix their mistake.

I would really waitlist for Jambo or Kidani even though you would prefer Jambo.

I hope they can get this all fixed for you!

Disney as a whole needs to scrap the IT department and start from scratch with qualified people. I also think you should not have to use extra points for their mistake and if I were you I would contact member satisfaction and tell them they need to make their mistake right. It is too easy to blame it on the computer. I am begining to wonder if all these issues with the computers are really computer issues or if they are mistakes on the part of the CM's and they find it easier to blame the computer. In any case they made the mistake (don't care if human or computer error) and they need to make it right without you having to use extra points.

I am wondering if I should cancel my VB Beach Cottage waitlist. Its only for 3 of the 5 days we are there. Butttt..... I don't want my additonal OVIR rooms to be cancelled! :headache: Well, paranoid, I just called to cancel the waitlist. They are having computer issues todayyyyy, I said DON'T DO ANYTHING THEN!!" Still the CM went and got "somebody" and they cancelled it "from the back end". :confused3

I am very sorry that this happened to you - again!

You should not have to shell out any additional points nor should any of your points be placed in holding because of this. In fact, they should GIVE you the 1-br for two nights.

I agree! I would be contacting my guide, and going as far up the ladder as I needed to to insure that I would get the one bedroom for the same points as what I had booked if the waitlist doesn't come through. And I would be insisting on staying Jambo if that's what I had wanted, booked and lost through no fault of my own. People have reported being credited points for far less, so we know it can be done. Here's some pixie dustpixiedust:

VERY VERY aggravating:sad2:! I would insist they remedy the dang problem out there expense not yours....Boy the nerve...Good luck, Shawnpirate:

This scares me as I have a whole reservation in one room I'm waitlisted for to move part over to another category. I have no clue what I'd do if the software decided to cancel my entire reservation when it automatically books the room move (if the waitlist comes through)

As a programmer I understand how challenging it can be to make such changes, but unless the software can accommodate such requests without failure, it should not be offered.

Bobbi, in your case it was either 1) the MS rep who set it up your request wrong (or misunderstood what the system could handle) or 2) the software messed up. In either case MS needs to demonstrate superior customer service and offer to right the wrong they or their system caused.

((hugs))

I would insist they cover the extra points needed.

Keep us posted.

What a nightmare! I'm so sorry! I am paranoid now, too! I just canceled my Christmas week waitlist. After hearing this, I'm just not going to take the chance that the computer 'glitches' in the middle of my waitlist booking and cancels the reservation I already have. I hope it all works out for you! :flower3:
