My wife and I are planning a trip to Disney World sometime in the next 18 months. She is skeptical because she has bad knees. Walking doesn't bother them too much because it keeps the blood flowing but when she has to stand for a long time, they really bother her. She has never been to Disney World and I haven't been since I was young. How long are the waits in line? Are there places she could sit while in line? Do ya'll have any other suggestions that might help her have a better time. Thank you all so much.

Welcome to our board!

Click on the link in my signature below - look at the sections on the Guest Assistance Card and Pacing. Youmight find some good information there.

You may want to consider getting an ECV for your trip -- you can get up and walk around all you want, but you will have a way to get around the park without wearing out so soon.

I took a light weight Camp Stool that I bought at Kmart. It was the answer for long lines!!it strapped to my small back pack for carrying. It went on all the rides with us!!

I also have bad knees and do better when I am walking then just standing. My right knee was replaced in 97 and it appears that my other will need to be done very soon. (not until we go to DW in June). I would suggest fastpass, it gives you a time to come back and there are usually little or no waits. This keeps you moving on line and not standing around much. We would rent wheelchair and I
would use it only if I felt i needed it. I also sit frequently. There is alot of walking to do that you do not think about. Hotel to car,or bus. Bus to park, At the end of the day the knees can be sore. But the pool or hot tub will help.
have fun and DW is the place I feel most comfortable travelling to...
