Just wondering what my fellow DIS'ers do when they have had either a bad experience or Bad meal. Do you give it another try; or do you move on and never go back to it. I have done both. at O'Hana I have had alternating times of bad service, then great meal and service, followed by bad food and then great meal and service. Will keep going back. Now ar Big River Grill i had both bad service and lousy food and will neve god back there.

I don't go back. I had a horrible experience at H&V. I've never went back and never plan to!

We usually will give a restaurant a second chance if it was bad food or service. If I am totally grossed out by the cleanliness then I never go back.

We have gone to CG for the past seven years or so, and this past October will be the last for a while. I know there is always a little bit of a wait to be seated most times, but 2 of the last 3 years we have waited over 70 minutes past our adr time. The only reason we were sat was my mother hanging near the podium for 20 minutes and continually asking about our table.

The food was good and our server was apologetic, but that is really unacceptable-our party size was 6 the year before and 5 this year. It is a shame their management takes too many reservations when they know they cannot handle them. I will not be making an adr this year-too bad for them.

I guess it depends on how often you can go back to WDW. If you only get to go every couple of years then I say try something new if you had a bad experience as there are SO many places to try. If you go more often then try it again, you never know---I did that with WCC and was pleasantly surprised at the second and third tries. We love it now.

I have heard bad things lately about 'Ohana but we will be going anyway to try it for ourselves...Risky since we only have a few nights and there are so many choices, but it will help me decide whether we want to try it on the deluxe plan in August.

Our last trip to Rose and Crown was awful which really surprised me. We had gone before and the meal was great. Then last year we went again and it was terrible. Oldest DD ordered a sandwich that was inedible cause the bread was hard as a rock. The rest of our meals were only lukewarm.

I made an ADR for this March thinking I would give them one more chance. If the experience is bad again then no more chances.

We give restaurants a second chance. There aren't any that are on a "never go there ever again" list with us. Just as with most people, we have our favorites. Some of those even disappoint on occasion.

Restaurants that we probably won't go back to anytime soon are: Hollywood & Vine, Biergarten, and Planet Hollywood. We used to love Biergarten, but our last couple experiences there were less than great, so we won't go there in the foreseeable future. There are just too many other restaurants we enjoy in EPCOT. One restaurant that we hadn't been to in years and were extremely glad we went to on our last trip was Citricos.....everything was first rate there. ::MinnieMo

I've never had one, but I'd say that it depends on the reason for the bad meal. If it were service or badly prepared food, I'd give it another shot because I know how high turnover rates are in restaurants and I only visit once a year. If it was because I simply didn't like the type of food, no, I'm not going back.

Probably our worst TS meal ever at WDW was in Mexico...it was the food, the service, everything. The atmosphere is pretty though, I have to say.
It was pretty horrible, and with all the good restaurants available that we would like to try, we most likely will not go back since we have our new favorites along with what we would like to try!

I have had bad or less than stellar experiences at only 3 locations.

Le Cellier 2003 with the CP dinner package. The food was awesome, but the service was lacking. The service was overall way too slow and the restaurant was no where close to even being 1/2 full at the time. However at the end, the server without asking first yanked my plate off the table, which I was not done with, and said "All done?" to which I said, "Well, I guess I am now." :sad2: It took me 5 years to give the restaurant another try. I am happy to report that it redeemed itself. I had an awesome meal there last month. :thumbsup2

50's Prime Time Cafe....ugh.....
We have given this place 3 times to redeem itself and it has failed on all attempts. :crazy2: It's permanently off the list. The service was never the issue, but the food is just not good. I guess I know that I can make better food at home and for far less money, so it sort of taints the experience.

ABC Commissary
This place has been very spotty on service for us, but our visit in December sealed the deal. We won't be going back. The food had gone way downhill this time. The Cuban was just awful, which is a shame, because it used to be something that I looked forward to. The lack of options for my oh so picky partner also is a negative. Unless something big changes, we just won't be back.

Bad food...don't go back.
Bad service...give it another try if the food/experience warrants.

For the most part, I'm usually pretty willing to give things a second chance. We've had two not so great restaurant experiences at WDW, and we'll probably eventually eat at those places again. Restaurants sometimes have an off night, and I think that's what happened in both cases, especially since these restaurants seem to get rave reviews on these boards. We aren't planning on hurrying back to either place, but I'm sure we'll give them another chance at some point in the future.

Of course, it probably depends on the severity of the situation. If the food was just awful or not to my taste at all, then I probably wouldn't go back.

Our last breakfast at Crystal Palace was awful. We had just been there earlier in the week and everything was organized, moved smoothly with the characters, and the food was good. We went later in the week and were there 90 minutes waiting to see one character, never again. (And we had the coveted 8:05 a.m. seating. Can't imagine what it would have been like at 10--oh, yeah, I can, we were still there!!!!) It took 30 minutes to flag down the waitress to refill our coffee.

The food was not as good that day, not as fresh tasting, bland. They must have been having a horrible day all around, but I won't go back for breakfast. We'll see about dinner maybe on another trip. The only reason we went was to see Piglet; now we've seen him and I can see the other characters if we want in Epcot easier.

We had bad service, not a bad meal at Kona in Sept. We are willing to give it another try. If we get the same waitress though..we are going to ask to be seated elsewhere:scared1: She was a disaster.

When we went in November 07, there were 2 restaurants we didn't care for (I wouldn't say hate), Ohana and Yak and Yeti. We tried Y&Y again when we went back in September 08, since there are so few choices in AK. However, we probably won't go back to Y&Y again. With Ohana, there are so many other choices, we probably won't go back for a long while.

Last June was the first time I've done table service restaurants at WDW. This March will be the second.

There were no bad experiences last year, but there were some restaurants that were disappointing compared to others. Les Chefs was our favorite last year and is the only one we are repeating, not because the others were bad, but because there are too many options to just go revisit the same restaurants.

If we aren't returning to restaurants that were adequate, I can't imagine returning to one that disappointed.

We usually give a place two tries. We gave H&V two tries--never again. We've only done Brown Derby once and were not impressed with it. We've not been back because there are too many other places we like to use two credits on the Derby. We hated Boatwright's (dinner) and Whispering Canyon Cafe. We definitely won't give Boatwright's a second chance. I draw the line at rude CM's and servers--and we had both there; WCC we might try for breakfast, but we won't go back for dinner.

So far the only bad meals we had were 1900 PF breakfast but maybe that was because it was a very late time. Chef Mickeys dinner had terrible food, H&V dinner was horrible all the way around and Spoodles breakfast had very overcooked food.

I guess it will be many years before we venture back since there are so many places for us to try

WELL, we have gone to the San Angel Inn, and though we don't love the food, we go back every time... (thank you DH...)

To be honest, we've never had a BAD dining experience, CS or TS. SURE, it's way overpriced, but we'll continue to eat there! We try to bring most stuff from home for breakfasts, snacks, and some lunches, but most of the time, we try to go someplace we've never tried each trip.

Oh, we did go to marrakesh this year, and it was OK... but I dunno if we'll go back.

BUT we do go to the TS in China (I can't remember the name now) and Teppan Edo each time. YUM!!

We only go to WDW every couple of years. We've never really had a bad experience with restaurants until this past October. When we were there in 2005, we had an excellent dinner at Le Cellier. This trip, not so much. The service was horrible and we were hurried out so it made the food not so enjoyable. We will probably give this restaurant a rest for a few trips and may go back but there are so many other restaurants we want to try or go back to.
