Now I know that Easter is a holiday and sometimes restaurants are overcrowded and understaffed, however, there was no excuse for the lousy meal we had at Trail's End on Sunday. In the past the plates were always warmed--this time you were lucky if you got a plate and if you did it was drenched in a pool of water--every large dinner plate. They had one person slicing the prime rib and buffalo meat--he also was cooking the pizza's and they wonder why the line was backed up 15 people??? The macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes were probably good someother night, but not Sunday--all dried out and very unappetizing. The salad bar was never refilled and the soup wasn't either until it ran completely out. The chocolate cake was stale and forget about refills on your drinks. The whole place was dirty looking. Very disappointed. Anybody have an address to write to complain to? We met friends there and were really embarassed to have suggested this place!

Sorry about your bad experience-- that sounds so untypical of Trail's End!

I learned the hard way over our Christmas trip that buffets are usually horrible with huge crowds/holidays. Even though I generally like buffets, we're not going to attempt them during crowded times anymore.
