Well, loud music until after midnight from a second floor neighbor, being awaken at 2 am by a screaming baby and rapid fire cursing in Spanish was just the neighbors.
My checkout horror story is as follows:
We returned on 9/3 from an extended trip to Orlando. The first week we stayed at Cypress point Phase I via hotelkingdom.com. We booked it back in February at the lower rate than current rates.
I will rate the good, the bad and ugly.
The Good: The space in the two bedroom villa was very nice. I liked the idea of a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, and the Jacuzzi in the master bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped with in some instances more things than my own kitchen. The distance to Disney property was very close, and there were many restaurants nearby.
The bad:
It took over an hour and a half for check in. We requested first floor, non smoking. We arrived after a 17 hour drive at 10 am on check in day. We arrived there was no lines at check in. We were given by a desk clerk with no name tag unit 3101A. We went to unit and the lock wasn't working. This desk clerk who looked new and his English wasn't that great apologized and "fixed" the card. So, now here we are back to the unit a 2nd time. It still wasn't working. So, here we are back to the desk a 3rd time. Now they give us unit 5308, 3rd floor. We drive over to bldg 5, and hike up to the 3rdfloor. We walk in and CHOKE on the smoke smell in this room. Of course, this will not work.
So back to the desk a 4th time, and tell them this. The desk guy refused to get security to fix the lock of 3101, and also refused to give a manager. At this point it is an hour and a half later and we are ready to get a refund for the stay and find somewhere else to stay. Suddenly the desk guy finds another 1st floor unit, 3102A. At this point we are thrilled to finally have a place to go, so we take it.
We go in and this unit is smoking. At least it doesnt at least smell like it throughout the unit, it smells only in the porch area. We didnt go outside on the porch at all.
The ugly:
After the front desk fiasco, we were very upset. Some other problems we encountered were:
1) Extremely loud neighbors. More than once, I woke up at 2 am with screaming babies and rapid fire loud shouting in Spanish. My kids could not sleep in the two bed room, because of the noise. I went in their room just to see if it was noisy, and it was. If it wasnt the people shouting, there were people tromping on the stairs, and if it wasnt that, there was someone who was playing loud salsa music until after midnight.
2) Extreme rowdiness in the pools. There of course, is no lifeguards, so its a pretty much free for all. There were too many teenagers dunking, playing chicken and throwing others into the pool. There also were problems with people goofing around on the slide. This place really needs lifeguards. I worried about my kids safety at night, and pulled them out early.
3) Definite crowding of the resort as our stay went longer. It seemed on our last Thursday, Friday and Saturday it was very very crowded. There werent many parking spaces left and one time we were blocked by another car since they took it upon themselves to just make up a parking spot which in turn blocked two cars in. Another time we were blocked in by a maintenance golf cart.
In short, we wont go here again. We will stay offsite at other properties, but not this one.
