We are getting in around 3pm on a Saturday and don't plan to go to any parks until the following day. We want to do something fun that night with our 8 year old and almost 2 year old. Would Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Hoop-Dee-Doo or Chef Mickeys be good for dinner? Would would like to do something with Mickey, but the Hoop-Dee-Doo looks fun. We're staying at the Pop and won't have a car....any suggestions on which would be easier? Please help!

I'm personally not a fan at all of the HDD. Never have done the BBQ, but heard it's a lot of fun - that'd be my choice.

Enjoy!

Thanks I leaning towards Mickey's BBQ, but I'm not sure what kind of food they have for my picky eaters! My little one LOVES Mickey and would be so excited to see him!

I've done all 3. The food is better I think at the Hoop-Dee-Doo. At the Back yard BBQ was alot of fun to watch all the kids having fun---going up front and dancing with Goofy and Minnie. They have hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs, beans, slaw, corn on the cob and cake. Chef Mickey is OK but I think in the past has been better.
Which everone you choose I think your kids will have a blast and that is all that counts.
Have fun on which ever one you choose. Hope you can get ressies.

HDDR has my vote...it has a/c..the food is awsome!
However, if you want to do something for the kids...Chef Mickey's

We love HDDR:thumbsup2 , and would recommend it anyday.

I read this review of the BBQ the other day and now I really want to take DS to it! I suggest looking at this http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1562382&page=5. The poster has some great pictures. Things I would consider before going to the BBQ are the time of year. It is outside so love bugs and very hot weather would be a concern.

Either way I do not think you can go wrong with these.

We did not care for dinner at CM.

I would love to do the Mickeys BBQ sometime but we always go when it isn't going on, I think because of your kids you might want to do the BBQ, I think there are characters there and what better way to start your trip.

Out of your three options, we have only done Chef Mickey's for dinner (but are considering trying it out for b-fast). We thought it was very chaotic and the character interaction wasn't nearly as nice/fun here as many of the other character meals have been (of course this could have had something to do with the obnoxious 20+ person family group that was seated at 3 large tables around us in the back elevated corner, parents were drinking way too much, and not doing enough supervising).

We are planning on HDDR for our Sept. 2008 trip. I think it looks like a lot of fun and good entertainment. We have no real interest in the Backyard BBQ at this time, but would appreciate reading any of the further reviews or opinions you receive from other DISers.
