Backstage Safari?

Has anyone ever made a Backstage Safari announcement or invitation? We are surprising my son with this (he is planning on getting a zoology degree) and I am trying to find some cool way to let him know that morning. I hope this is the right forum to ask this!

I was thinking of using that cute box the usb drive and trip stuff came in and putting a paper in there with the details. But I am creatively challenged! So I am hoping someone might can give me some ideas or formats I could steal.
