My husband and I are headed to Universal/ IOA this weekend (first timers!):cool1: When we went to Disney a few years ago, I found it much easier to carry all my stuff in a small backpack instead of a purse. I never had a problem carrying it on any rides there, but it looks like US and IOA may be different.

How much are lockers near the rides? Any tips?

Thanks!

Lockers near the rides in Universal are free. The ones near Hulk and Dueling Dragons in IOA are free but they try to charge you for the lockers near the Barges and Ripsaw Falls. They also have lockers that you can rent by the day but that would defeat the purpose of having a backpack. My wife always uses a backpack at USF/IOA and she's never had to pay for a locker.

The rides that make you store your stuff all have lockers right outside of them. Unless it's changed, they're free!! They use a fingerprint scan (if I remember correctly) which could sort of be a pain, but we never had any issues!!

That is correct. The difference between those lockers and the lockers at the Barges/Ripsaw Falls is that at the water rides you are allowed to bring your stuff with you. The lockers are to keep it from potentially getting drenched. Since they are optional they charge you if you choose to use them.
