IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE BACKPACK ON THE RIDES, OR DO YOU HAVE TO LRENT A LOCKER? :confused3

Just try to keep it lightweight & small, IMHO. Otherwise it'll start feeling like a boulder after carrying it all day long. :rotfl:

If you're planning on going on Kali River Rapids, you may want to bring along a plastic bag to put your backpack in before you put it in the "watertight" container in the center of the raft. Just a helpful hint ...

:umbrella:

I always have the backpack with me with 2 kids. Keep in mind that you have to have it checked with you enter the park, so you will have a bit of a wait. Other than that, like everyone else said you can store it at your feet on the rides. If you can to the waterparks, they have lockers you can rent. :sunny:

Some of the rides don't allow you to carry anything on but provide nearby lockers to store them in. Please follow the advice of putting your bag in a waterproof bag on the water rides.

I was caught in a heavy downpour in this country and it totally ruined my digital camera. The rain just went through the zip. The replacement camera was treated to an aquapac a totally waterproof/underwater light bag which totally protects it against water. I need another one for my camcorder now because there is no way I am risking damaging it on the water rides (which you get soaked on) or in the torrential downpours I am expecting.

I have always carried a bag around with me, no problem. I think my family think I am a carthorse sometimes as I always seem to get lumbered with stuff. This year I wanted to just stroll around with perhaps just my camera around my neck but then when I thought I had my camera, camcorder, tickets, water, suncream, sunglasses, it quickly became clear I would need another bag again. So I am on the look out for a small neat backpack.

Disney does not do the locker thing. You can bring a backpack on any ride. Put it in the designated storage compartment of the ride or place it at your feet. I have brought my backpack on every ride at WDW. Never had an issue.

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure have some suspended coasters that this would not be possible. Therefore, they provide lockers to store your loose items while you ride.

I bring my backpack on ALL of the rides :earboy2: I've even taken it on Rockin n' Rolercoaster. I just hook it around my ankle :earseek:

Wicket2005,

I have a professional back pack (Kata Rucksack) to take all my equipment on vacation, but I use an inexpensive Targus backpack at the parks. Very, very light and small. It holds my Panasonic FZ20 digital camera, Sony camcorder, hand wipes, 2 extra batteries, and there is room left over for a water bottle. Really nice, quality pack for the money (approx. $25.00 on Amazon). I have used it the last two years at Disney and it still looks new.

The only issue I have with storing it on the rides is that I like to keep 2-3 pins on my backpack and sometimes they get tangled on the ride, especially the netting on Dinosoar :guilty: .

I checked the Aquapac products you mention and I never knew these existed. The marine cases that the manufactures usually sell are hundreds of $. Even though the Aquapac is only waterproof to 15 feet, I think I am going to purchase one for my camcorder and one for my digital camera.

Yep. You can take them on all the rides, but you don't need to lug the kitchen sink. On my first trip to Disney way back when I was over-prepared for the day and ended up going back to the hotel after lunch cause it got too heavy. Really, all you need is sunscreen, sunglasses, a camera and a water bottle, and whatever your kids need.

we had the same ? b4 we went in jan this year. had no prob. on any rides, either just put in the compartments provided, or dh just hooked it around his ankles. he did feel like a pack mule by the end of the trip but all in good humor.

one note whoever is in charge of the backpack, should take the front seat in space mount, as it has the most room. :)

Backpacks w/ wheels. they are easy to carry, and slide under your feet on the rides. BRING something to put it in on water rides, or protect valuables from getting wet.

Thanks for that Ron, I will have a look on Amazon uk to see if they have the same bag.

The other good thing about the camera aquapac's is that you can still operate the camera whilst it is the bag and take pictures. I used the digicamera's video mode whilst my hubbie was rowing on a river. The bags are supposed to float if they go in water and obviously are waterproof so I felt really safe using it, after all accidents do happen. You are also supposed to be able to take underwater pictures with them. I have not tried this.

thanks everybody.that answers my question. i'll be checking amazon about ordering the backpack :sunny:

Are we allowed to bring in snacks for the kids, or is it not allowed to bring in any type of snacks or juices?
