I have a small black Mickey sling backpack that I love to use in the parks. It's not too big, but big enough to fit everything we need. It matches the black disney luggage that Disneydirect.com has been selling. I'll see if I can a pic. :)

I have that one too, I used it last year for my Feb. trip and it worked out great. This year we are going in June and my DH will carry that (hopefully :teeth: ) and I am going to carry a small bag I bought from QVC. It's from Travelon and is like a very small backpack. Between the two I think we can carry what we need for the five of us. :goodvibes

So, this year I bought a messenger bag.

It's almost weightless, made of rip stop fabric, comes in probably a dozen colors, has scads of pockets for organizing, has a place for a water bottle (we're bringing the filtered water bottle), large enough for camera but still fairly small, has a hidden pocket for valuables, has a place in the strap or on the side for your cell, and can be carried either on the front or back.
One caveat, I have yet to use it at WDW but I have high hopes that this will be my dream bag. We go in June so I'll let you know how it went.
Marsha

I have the WDW backpack that spells out Disney using the different character body parts, a Lewis & Clark fanny pack that has straps to convert it to a messenger bag, and a small (9"x8") messenger bag with five pockets I won on e-bay. I had planned to take all three to WDW next month and decide down there which one to use. However when I saw this baggallini bag I had to see it. I ordered one 5/18 off e-bay for $16.99 (as a pay now item), just received it a few minutes ago, and can't believe how perfect it is. When I first saw it, I thought the Brita water bottle might be too big for it, so went and tried it. It holds the bottle snugly, but well. The size is perfect too. When you said it has scads of pockets you weren't kidding, they're everywhere. The picture doesn't do it justice. I just stuffed it with everything I might need for the parks (guide book, autograph t-shirt, sunscreen, bug screen, makeup, meds, bandaids/mole skin, body glide, pen, notepad, water bottle, lip balm, mister fan, camera, cell phone, wallet, sunglasses, and a few other things) and I still have room left over. It's hard to believe something so small can hold so much. Size wise it is smaller (13"x10") than the WDW backpack (17"x15") and is lighter, but holds tons more because if the way it is organized with the pockets. I like the pocket in the strap for the cell phone, but also love the pocket that lies against your back (or chest) for hiding money. The little pocket on the side is perfect for my digital camera and will keep it within easy reach. The picture on the site doesn't show those pockets or a few others.

I like my Lewis & Clark bag, but it is too small to hold my guide book and the autograph t-shirt I want to carry. I like the way it goes across your body like my little messenger bag though. It seems to have the best characteristics of all three of my other bags, without any of the faults. I agree this looks like it will be the perfect bag for WDW. Looks like I will be leaving my other bags at home. Thanks so much for posting this!!

I caved and bought a fanny pack yesterday. I have shoulder problems, so although I'm bringing my messenger bag just in case, I'm willing to forgo style in order to be as comfortable as possible! DH has one of those drawstring backpack things...big enough for the digital camera case, his cell, poncho, and water bottle :)

i voted for messenger bag, because it is closest to what i perfer.

we did an over the shoulder bag that is roomy and open at the top. it has a large zipper that we don't close unless we are going on a ride where things might fly out. no zippers except one for a small pocket where we keep small stuff.

this way we can freely and on the fly get to water bottles, snacks, camera and autograph books.

i grew very annoyed with having to take the backpack off everytime we needed something.

we keep the over the shoulder bag with us at all times. it goes on rides with us, so we don't have to worry about the stuff in it getting stolen while we are off riding.

:cheer2: Its like you're reading my mind. My baggallini came today also and I spent a great deal of time playing with it. I too thought the britta water bottle wouldn't fit, but it does  . Thanks so much for writing about these bags. I got mine on e-bay too for $16.99 :teeth: I can't wait to use it.

What did you search under on Ebay for those bags? I couldn't find them. Hopefully they aren't out :sad2:

I think I just typed in baggallini. At first, I just did a search under messenger bags, but too many came up.

My e-mail receipt says 'purchased from *redlulu* AND THEN SAYS ITEM # 6760328295 Baggallini Messenger Bag, Black! NWT!', if that helps! Again neither the picture that comes up in Mad2Scrap's post and especially not the one on e-bay (bad picture) shows anywhere near the pockets it has. The tag on it says 'designed by flight attendants...approved by travellers'.

In case you can't tell, I'm really excited about this bag! I just can't believe a bag this small can hold so much. I just took mine outside and sprayed it with waterproofing and as soon as it dries I'm going to put a few Disney pins on the back outside pocket. I'm also going to put a laminated lime green Mickey head on a couple of the zippers to brighten it up (it's solid black). Pal Mickey clips perfectly onto the metal parts just above (or just below) the hidden cell phone pocket that goes across your chest. This bag seems to be all I'll need to carry to the parks in May.

Hi,
There are none left listed on Ebay. :sad2: I just ordered 1 from e-bags. I used a link that gave me 10% off and free shipping so my total was $31.49.
I ordereed Lime Green  Figured my son should not complain when it is his turn to carry  . Back packs are a pain as you are always removing them. I hate reqular bags as the kill my shoulder. I hope this one will be more comfortable and easy to move around to get camcorder quick.
Thanks for the input. Now I need lime green Crocs to go with my bag :rotfl2:

34 days to the boys biggest surprise of their lives :earseek:

I'd go with a messenger bag...It's really easy to get through the security "tables" with it. Again I had a backpack for a day, because I wants something to hold my video camera and water in, but they want me to open every pocket, so I'm bringing a camera case and a messenger bag this time

The baggallini bag looks like a backpack??? It's on her back not her side.

Are there other small messenger bag recommendations that have a water bottle holder that maybe are at your side?

For those who said there were none on ebay I just searched and found some. This auction has 5 available:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15738&item=6762613068&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Hi,
They just recently put them up foir sale. they were not there earlier. They are the same seller who had them before. Funny how they have so many and for 1/2 the price of anywhere you can find them on the web. :confused3

I may have to get another one in black.
Thanks for the heads up,
Cheryl

Wow :earseek: Only 3 left-going fast!!
Cheryl

I just bought one too, so only 1 is left.

I really wanted to get one in a cute color, but I couldn't bring myself to pay almost twice as much just to have one that isn't black. My lime green Mickeys will show up better against the black bag anyway.

This looks like a wonderful bag. Thanks Mad2Scrap for this tip!!
