Hey - I've been loading pics onto a card for a digital photo frame gift for MIL's 75th birthday and realized that the frame has the capability to play music in the background.....Anyone have any ideas of songs to download onto the SD card for some music?????

I suggest

Just really great song

Israel Kamakawiwo`ole Somewhere Over The Rainbow / What A Wonderful World

Yall can stop now this one will be hard to beat :lmao:

For a several slide shows we have made for family reunions and such, we have used some songs from Tim Janis CD's. Got them at the library and ripped them.

This site can show you the #1 song for a given date for a given year.

If you know when a majority of the photos on the frame a from (especially if they're nostalgic) it could be fun to have one or more popular songs from the time period playing!

Actually, Kaleohano beats it by a mile. It was our wedding song.

BTW: It's on the same album.

Here's a few to check out I have used them all in slide show's in the last year or so. They are of course a little sappy but I found they fit the theme of family photos nicely.

Rob Thomas-Little Wonders
Sarah Barielles-Many the Miles
Natasha Bedingfield -Unwritten
Jack Johnson-My Own Two Hands

This is a great idea for a continious thread. I am always looking for good songs to make a photostory!

Songs I have used-

Little wonders by Rob Thomas. Great song for new babies. I sent this one to my son's birth mom for his entire first year in pics. It turned out great

Disneymania 2 songs - When you need a friend -Artist? - was great for story about friends.

When you wish upon a star- great for a disney photostory

Look at us - Vince Gill (if you like country) great annivarsary photostory

The classic Over the Rainbow either by Eva Cassidy or Israel ? (that hawaiian guy) Eva Cassidy also does a great rendition of Stings' Fields of Gold!

Previous Poster -love the suggestion of Many the Miles. I had never heard that one and I am definatly going to have to use that one.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but for instrumental music to fit a specified mood and at a specified length, for free, check out:

You can get some very professional results using this site.

I use it a lot because the popular music or Disney music behind my videos and slideshows comes off cheesy to me when I try it.

Another really good source for some excellent music is this Finnish composer: Matti Paalanen.

Much of his work is targeted to a fantasy audience, so it might not be appropriate for a birthday present for a 75-year-old lady, but his work is just beautiful.

His Celestial Aeon Project his most fantasy-oriented work. One of my favorite songs is Awakening....

He's also got some beautiful ambient music covering all different sorts of moods in his Divinity project.

And his Frozen Silence project is a body of mostly soft, thoughtful piano works.

hmmmmmmmmmm if you want to have fun. Load It's a small world on it. :thumbsup2

I am working on a slideshow project this week for my DS's 3rd grade class. The teacher always plays IASW on the piano she has in her class, so she asked me to include it.

I'm also including "You Got a Friend In Me" and something from High School Musical. I'm thinking about ending with Israel Kamakawiwo`ole's Somewhere Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World. The kids probably won't know it, but you put that at the end and there won't be a dry eye with the teacher and all the moms!
