Hi

We got back yesterday after our 5 day trip.

As usual highs and lows.....

Highs.

Our room at DLH - after chatting to the cm at check in she allocated us a different room, it was pretty much above the reception area so looked our partly over fantasia gardens, with a view of tot and a slight park view where we could hear the park music!:thumbsup2

The Halloween decorations - we were very impressed with the effort they made, it wasn't over the top but was lovely!

DS riding the tower of terror- fine the first time but a bit hesitant the second time - says he enjoyed it though!

Meeting jack skellington (again) - DS was dressed up as him and the character interaction was fantastic!

Character meals - cafe mickey, inventions and cowboy cookout - not always lots of characters but great interaction.

Takeaway from earl of sandwich - lovely food

Lows.

Too much rain. Some nice weather but the rain was definitely annoying

DS - bad behaviour, apologies to anyone who witnessed his melt down and subsequent stern talking too:headache: ( in the toilets) at blue lagoon on Friday....

Missing out on riding parachutes as every time we were near it it rained.

Overall it was a great trip, nothing was too busy, cm were all nice. Not sure when we will be back.....

Glad you had a great time! Out of interest, how warm was it? It's freezing here at the moment so I wondered what DLP would be like at this time of year.

How was the hotel? Worth the price? (Sorry just curious- we've been looking at staying here)

Hope you get back soon! :)

Right now at 18.30 it's 16° even though it's rained all day - Last week it was up to 19° and next week we are due 23°.

But this past week has been very wet :headache:

Weather was warmer than here. When it wasn't raining a cardi or fleece was enough without a jacket. It was pretty cold in the morning for emh, but a jacket on top of everything else was fine. For watching dreams it felt a bit chilly but more just because you were standing still for so long.

DLH, is a lovely hotel. Unless you are getting a good discount it's pretty pricey. We love it in the colder weather and even this trip after watching dreams it was great to be indoors so quickly. The breakfast is lovely and it's handy if you have kids and want to go back and forth to pick up a buggy or change clothes or have a rest. My mother in law comes with us and she is 72, still really active but after a full day in the parks loves staying at DLH.

Welcome back, shame about the weather

Welcome back :goodvibes

Good to see so many highs and that even though the rain was/is a pain you had a great time.

This year has been really miserable weather wise, hope we get a mild winter :thumbsup2

Are you doing us a TR ? :goodvibes

Carrie will try and do something next week. Didnt keep notes though so might just do a photo heavy thing.

Thanks again for all the shopping posts, came home with all I planned and more!

Welcome back. :goodvibes Would love to see a photo of your DS in Jack Skellington costume, did you buy or make it?

Cherry marzipan. Will post one later. I bought the costume from asda for £12.50!

Welcome back :wave2:.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Sounds like you had a great time overall. I agree about the rain though, you can put up with it for so long, but when you are out in every day for a few days it starts to get to you. At least being at the DLH you can pop back which is always nice :cool1:.

Nice to hear you got a nice room - I think our second trip we had a similar view room - loved looking at ToT and Fantasia Gardens lit up at night, and we could hear the park music too which was lovely :goodvibes.

What characters did you see at DLH - if you don't mind me asking?

Read your comments about the Art of Animation - glad you managed to do a bit of it :thumbsup2.

Here is the picture of DS and DH with Jack Skellington. Jack was great with DS, trying to teach him all the different poses he makes.

DLP dreams, we saw Mickey,Minnie, Rabbit, Pluto, EEyore all at the fireplace and chip and dale and donald running about down strairs. We didnt go back for the character stuff at 4pm. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Tweedle Dum, Goofy and Pinocchio at Inventions.

love the pic of DS in his jack costume he looks ace! an gettin so big now! an nice touch DH has a jack keyring in his shirt pocket lol i'v kinda gone off the nightmare before xmas film recently 2 the point where i sold my dvd but i still love jack an anythin wi jack on it lol.

glad DS did TOT. its a strange one as i hated the florida one when i first went on it as a child it scared the crap outta me but was made 2 go on it as a 16 year old several times one after the other an again when i was 21 last year an i still dnt really like it, never look forward 2 it but for some reason if everyone else wants 2 an theres no queue i find myself goin on it an walkin back on bout 4 or 5 times in a row. i'd never queue for it tho lol kinda the same feelin u said DS had bout being unsure to re ride it.

shame about the rain i agree wi DLPDreams u can take a wee bit rain here an there but when it rains for days it kinda puts a dampener on ppls spirits :( u dnt go on holiday 2 get rained on like we always do in scotland altho if it makes u feel any better we had a whole week of pourin rain every single day last week too lol :sad1:
